Jon Busch named to MLS all-star team

Busch is making a name for himself with the Columbus Crew. If I’m remembering correctly, he actually turned professional after his junior year.

MLS names reserves

Rounding out the reserves in the East are midfielder Clint Dempsey and forward Pat Noonan of the New England Revolution – another team absent from the starting lineup – and Columbus Crew goalkeeper Jon Busch. Dempsey, who has quickly become a fixture in the Revs’ first XI in his first season, joins Adu as the only rookies on either squad, while 2003 rookie sensation Noonan gets his first All-Star nod. Busch’s strong play helped turn around the Crew’s season after a rough start, and he now owns the fourth-best goals-against average in MLS.

Great news! Yes, Jon did turn pro after his junior season with the Niners.
