Jon Davis Scores Points

Max and Lew did play as freshmen. Both of them showed flashes of their future greatness.

I stand corrected on freshman eligibility. It was 72-73. But still no 3 point line for them .

clt asks where is el Tamir?

JD moved passed Cedric Maxwell tonight.

#3 is a safe bet

Only one assist today, which gives him 502. #3 Byron Dinkins (513) and #2 Keith Williams (515) are within reach, but Pierria Henry’s all-time 566 probably going to stand up.

Today’s game high 30 moves JD past Niner great Jarvis Lang for 5th place with 1,868 points. Plus four more dimes = 506 assists.

If Jon had just 4 more games in his career he would get 2nd easily. I hope we finish strong and give him some more opportunities. Most of the guys in that list had their fair share of post season ball.

It would be nice for some in game recognition going forward.

.update

Plus two more assists = 508

They said something on the broadcast that he was one of 3 players in college basketball with 1500 pts and 500 assists.

Jon is great.
There are quite a few guys playing in the NBA who would have those numbers had they chosen to play 4 years at the collegiate level.

Why would anyone try to diminish his accomplishments?

I believe he had a realistic chance to catch Henry. But his assists have gone down as of late. Six more and he passes coach Dinkins. He needs to ave close to 10/game to catch Henry.

Assists (since 1972)

  1. Pierria Henry 2011-15 566
  2. Keith Williams 1983-87 515
  3. Byron Dinkins 1985-89 513

Hard when there aren’t great shooters on the team.

If you are referring to me, I refer you to the “Jon is great” part of my post. Putting his accomplishments in perspective is not the same as diminishing them.

I think they meant current. And if they left early who cares.

Of course “they” meant current. That was my whole point. Caring about players leaving early or not is irrelevant.
Fact is that they do. Four years of stats is going to be different than one or two.

clt says name this 49er legend
