Jr 49ers Club clinic tomorrow

Anyone else taking their son or daughter out there? Sat morning at 8:30. This will be the 3rd or 4th year for LL. The players used to pick him up so he can make a basket. He’s 7 and can shoot it up now.

All of the players and coaches are usually there. The players run the drills, Lutz talks to them and then autographs.

Last year, Mouptaou Tarou, top 25 recruit who committed to Villanova was visiting with former 49er player, Cedric Broadhurst.

De’Angelo Alexander was on his visit and stopped by the clinic a few yrs ago.

I don’t think anyone is on an official visit this weekend but it will be a good time to get some updates

Great turnout and some new twists this year. There were about 110 kids. The most they’ve ever had. I think all of this year’s team was there except incoming freshman. Dijuan was like a coach out there, talking to everyone and helping get things organized. Phil picked up kids for dunks. The players worked the drills.

This year they rotated the kids through all drills on all courts. Practice court and courts in the SAC. Plus they brought them into the video room which seats about 100 with stadium seating and showed a highlight video from the last 2 years. Had the Wake game, UMASS and some of this year’s highlights.

Nice job by the athletic dept, coaches and players! It was sponsored by Bojangles and Charlotte Orthopedic.

No recruits visiting.
