…has pop-ups. Too bad. But I know the cost of a quality product and the entrepreneurial spirit is a strong one, so let it be…
I’ve not seen a pop up on this site.
I don’t think I’ve seen one either…
I haven’t encountered any popups on this site.
I had one once i thought…but maybe it was one from a previous site
There are no pop ups on this site. However I’ve had some come up when I’ve come here as well from time to time.
They get embedded in your files somewhere and pop up. But we don’t use them here.
www.lavasoftusa.com - download adaware6 (its free)
After downloaded install it (duh), run it (duh), click on check for updates (not terribly important the first time, but they come out with definition updates often, so after a while you’ll need them), download/install any it finds, click start/run to start the scan, after it finds all occurances of popups/spyware/adware/malware, make sure all are selected and click next, which will delete/quarantine the baddies.
Quite possibly the best freeware program in a loooong while. Will take care of all your popup problems.

I have a great anti-popup installed and they don’t actually come up, but the audio tone that tells me they’re lurking was going off several times during my visit here. Duh!
If you are getting pop-ups, you have spyware or adware installed on your PC. End of story. We do not use advertising. Period. This site isn’t triggering the ads, your general internet activity is.
yeah, you should stop visiting those porn sites so often

I get them on here sometimes when I first access the site, immediately following other various webpages. The popup carries over or is already embedding from previous internet activity. I just run Adaware when it happens and it usually cleans out the culprits. Definitely not from this site though.
Adaware and Spybot are two of the greatest free downloads ever made. They’ll keep your system cleaned up.
austinniner, getting all the popups that occur on most porn sites is enough to keep you from even attempting to view them.
There is a virus (sort of) going around now that you can get just from viewing some web pages (not downloading files). Somehow it installs a bunch of advertising software that creates popups and can even installs searchbars and other annoying things on your browser. The worst part is that adaware and spybot will not get rid of it completley. They will remove a bunch of stuff caused by the virus, but not the virus itself. I had to do a system restore to remove it. I have been very careful about what links I click on since then. <_<
It’s not a virus, it’s the SCURGE of the Internet SPYware or as the makers of teh software call it Adware. I’ve worked on countless friend’s pc’s over the past 6 months where weird things were happening, slowing down, popups, lock ups, etc. In about 90% of the cases it was spyware causing the problems. Use both Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy and you’ll be fixed up.

Google has a free anti pop-up toolbar as well. I haven’t had a pop-up in 6 months. I’ve recommended that to a ton of people as well. Works wonders.
For those of you who aren’t IE-dependent, the popup blocker built in to Mozilla Firefox puts all others to shame. I’ve yet to encounter any popups since making the switch, including those embedded ones that tend to float around your screen that you can’t close.
When I do surf with IE, I use Panicware’s which works well for most of your basic popups but it’s not incredibly aggressive.
No problems with pop-ups for me.
I used to get them when reading the Pole Vault Thread.

I had to read it twice…but I got it.
Well played sir.
