Looking ahead to next year

During the game tonite, I was thinking about next year and what kind of team we may have. With DA and Lee, I think they will be 2 of the most prolific scorers in the A10 and a really good combo. If EJ can return to form and produce like he did last year that will make a good 3rd option scorer. As far as big men, we will still have Courtney(who has made big strides this year) and Coleman to patrol the paint. I am leaving out the transfers, because you never know what you are going to get, but if they come in and produce as expected, i think next year could be a successful season. GO NINERS!!!

you also have a shooting guard in ian anderson who has put many 30 point performances on a lack luster team this year in oregon. He’s the JJ Redick of their team.

Sounds even better than what i thought:clap:

I think we’ll be solid. I agree about Courtney. I think he’ll be a very valuable asset next season. So will Coleman, DA, EJ, and Goldwire.

I’m making no comment about any new player until we see them in action. I’ve learned my lesson one time too many.

I think Wilderness…and certainly Tatum, when and if he qualifies academically, could contribute greatly next year. Carlos Williams, from all that I’ve seen, will be the real deal…our next Sean Colson…someone not afraid to drive and dish.

Mike and the Mad Dog on the Fan in NYC were filling out their brackets tonight and when pressed with adding a 2nd A-10 team leaned toward the Billikens based on a much better RPI ranking. Looks like barring an A-10 conference championship, that the Niners will be heading to the NIT.

Great first post!!! thanks for sharing the knowledge.

The sarcasm meter is broken now.

Our problem next year will be rebounding.

Our problem next year will be the same as it has been for a while. No D and lack of flow on Offense.

We will have a lot of new faces next year so it is always hard to predict how that will go.

Losing Withers will hurt a lot… just look at his stats from last night: 40 minutes, 27 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. Stats like that will be impossible to replace with one guy… I’m afraid we might rely on the three even more next year.

I think Wilderness...and certainly Tatum, when and if he qualifies academically, could contribute greatly next year. Carlos Williams, from all that I've seen, will be the real deal...our next Sean Colson...someone not afraid to drive and dish.

If Carlos turns out to really be a Colson type player, it will go a long way to making next year an enjoyable season…

Look to St. Joes or Dayton if you want to get a guage of what next season may look like. We’re in a similar boat to where they were this season.

We’re going to have some personality next year for sure. Phaler and his tattoos, Anderson and his west coast style and possibly goggles, energy guy Wilderness joining up with Coleman. Add some flare with Carlos Williams running the show. Diverse group for sure. Should be several fan favorites and fun to watch.

Returnees Alexander, Leemire and EJ will have to have big years for us to finish in the top 2 again.

I still think next year will be more enjoyable than this year. All the hype was ridiculous and led to a lot of expectation. In 2006-2007 any win we get will be awesome.

My pick for A10 champion next year, Saint Louis. I think we’ll finish 4th behind Dayton and Fordham.

I hope the team is picked to finish in 13th or 14th place in the conference during the preseason.

that way…ANY WIN will be something to get excited about.

Don’t care where it comes from (transfer, freshman, upper classman…etc) but this team needs to improve their on-court communication and leadership for '06-'07.
