Lutz goes for WIN 300 Sat night

Per Charlotte49er.com: Head coach Bobby Lutz goes after career win #300, Saturday vs. Georgia State. With 299 career victories, Lutz ranks 51st among active coaches (all divisions). Lutz owns a .643 career winning pct. (299-166).

Per the Observer: He is 118-77 in seven seasons at Charlotte and was 181-99 in nine at Pfeiffer.

Something’s not adding up right but he has won 61% of his games at Charlotte.

181 wins - 89 losses, .670 at Pfeiffer

1986-87 - 7-19
1987-88 - 7-17
1988-89 - 13-13
1989-90 - 22-11
1990-91 - 29-4
1991-92 - 30-5
1992-93 - 23-6
1993-94 - 24-6
1994-95 - 25-8

Those first two seasons really put a hurtin’ on his percentage but you have to figure in the good with the bad.

Personally, I’d like to see his numbers at Charlotte a little better than 118-77 but when I think back to all the games we were in position to win and let slip away, I’m not surprised.

The first three seasone, we won two CUSA championships, and NCAA tourney victories. I would much rather have than than the high percentage with two losses at the end. Maybe we can get back to days of peaking at the right time.

I thought it was blantantly obvious that I was referring to his first two years at Pfeiffer, not Charlotte.
