Several of us talked last night of what the past 12 years with Bobby Lutz had been like. It has been posted here by many of you that he is a class act and there are so many memories in our lives revolve around Coach Lutz. Bottom line, he is family; Bobby will always be one of us, a true green-blooded Niner!
It’s the nature of the business that coaches are never given the proper farewell. We wanted to attempt to do something for Bobby and also give Niner Nation a chance to say thank you. Wild Wing Cafe is already reserved for the radio show on Thursday, March 25. There is no reason for the radio show, but if we can get Coach to come, we can have one helluva send-off party. It’s simply an event for Niner Nation to get together and thank an alum for his dedicated service to UNC Charlotte. There’s no hidden agenda, no BS involved, just a festive evening of memories.
We need to have a rough idea of people who would attend. Bobby has been made aware of the event and hasn’t committed yet. He wanted to think about it, but was excited to hear that “a group was interested in doing this for an old coach.” If we can prove to him that Niner Nation wants to say thanks, we are convinced he will say yes.
If you’re in… simply post it below. If you can’t attend, it’s fine, don’t respond. If you don’t like the idea, please don’t clog up the thread. We respect your opinions, respect ours please. Feel free to invite friends.

I know that I have a prior commitment…but if this happens, and I don’t get to make it down, I certainly plan to send my regards and some form of a “thank you.”
I’d like to be there, but if I get teary-eyed it is in that manly-sports related way, like we all did watching Field of Dreams. Nobody gets to make fun of me.
