Every year there’s internal pressure to do well. I want us to do well. I don’t worry about external pressure, you can’t control that anyways. I won’t feel any different then I did this past year. We’ll work hard. We worked hard last year. Hopefully our talent level will be better, which I think it is, and we’ll be healthy.

and then Braswell even more so. He’s a fifth year guy. He’s mature beyond his years on the court. He’s not a tremendous athlete but he really knows how to play the game. He has a really high basketball I.Q
Which is it Bobby?
you need a higher talent level, but Braswell is not a tremendous athlete?
At least Braswell has a high basketball I.Q…guess that means he’s destined to be a basketball analyst.

Since when was athleticism the only measure of talent?

It’s not dammit. I’ve been harping on this for years. If it was a damn track meet we’d probably still be playing- sorry Ian.
It’s a very simple game. As a coach, you put your players in the best position to get the orb thru the little round iron thing. Defensively, you try to prevent it from being easy.
Lutz sucks at both. Sorry, he’s a great guy, but he teaches a badly flawed system. He’s be great with UNC-Ch, just outscore them.
I thought the article was free?

Did we just get owned?

Haha. It was for a few hours, I guess. Until they caught it.
Lots of good stuff in it:
We had a break and had meetings and talked about doing two things: we needed to recruit better players and improve all these guys that are here

But provided we sign the guys that I think we’ll get I can answer that better once the signing period is done.
Provided that we can get the guys I think we’ll get? Wow, sounds like he doesn’t have faith in the team than we have. I wish that I could read that article. What else did he say?

The NCAA does not allow you to be very specific about recruiting.

The way I read it…“If we get the guy I think we will get to backup DiJuan, then we will have a chance to compete. If not, then next year will be another difficult year.”

He also said that everyone is chasing after the same guys at this time of year…and sounded like he said he was surprised at some of the competition we have to fight off given the level of recruit we are looking at…

Yeah, it helps to read the whole article. Get together with a few friends and pay the subscription fee. NinerReport is the only one to interview Lutz after the season and it’s a very good interview.
He emphasized that finding another PG was number one priority as he was talking about next season.

Agreed. 4-year PG, 2-year PG, whatever. We desperately need a PG to let Harris breathe.

Wow. Does not sound good.

I’m surprised you’re surprised. We’ve talked about needing a back up or another PG the day after we found out Gerrity was leaving.
based on those comments, who is his number 1 target at this stage ? Sounds like he really thinks one of them can play and help immediately.
