Mark Price Nominated for Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame

Amazing to be even nominated. I hope coach gets in. If he does this would be huge for him, and as well for the team. I can only imagine what the kids under him would think. Would also be a great recruiting tool.

Great news. I hope both Mark Price and Lee Rose get it.

clt provides observer story:

Well, “They got a Hall of Fame coach,” the writers might say all the time without even thinking about it. Recruits go boom. Yadda yadda.

Congrats on the nomination. What a trump card to play.on the recruiting trail. “You wanna be a legend, son? I can teach you firsthand what it takes get into the hall of fame. Chew on that for a second, then sign here.”

Me too.

I liked the part where they said Price will probably be a better coach than ole Roy.

Was huge fan of him in college and pro.

Didn’t play long enough or set enough records to be HOF (if I had to bet). His fame was for being a short white guy who could shoot.

Cool to get nominated

cedric’s in there at # 46.

No. That is NOT doing him justice.

Exactly. Price could flat out shoot. NBA doesn’t give extra playing time based on ethnicity.
Metro=Donald Trump of NNN and I guarantee he will take that as a compliment.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Is Mullins in the HOF? It would be great to have 4 coaches in the HOF. Price, Rose, Mullins, and Major.

I took a look yesterday and did not see him. I kind of expected too. (And yes, I am ignoring the last name. :-X )

Sort by points per game and Jeff Mullins is #45, WS at #97

So eligible, but not nominated.

Mullins has an incredible basketball resume. Kentucky Mr Basketball as a high school player, in 2002 he was named one of the 50 best ACC players for his time at Duke, a three-time NBA all-star and NBA Champion with the Warriors, an Olympic Gold Medalist, a coach and AD, and a respected TV announcer of the game. He is a basketball renaissance man. It would be great to see him get into the Hall.

Don’t think the Trump/Metro comparison was necessary, but what I meant was Price was MUCH more than a shooter. Plenty of great shooters come through the league without getting in to the HOF. Price was one of the guys credited for perfecting/teaching the pick and roll, was a great distributor of the ball, great ballhandler and 2nd best free-throw percentage in NBA history in addition to being a great guy/teammate by all accounts.

Thanks. I had looked and did not see him listed, but I was hoping I had somehow missed his name.
