Not 100% sure what this would mean for Charlotte FC. The article reads as though if they opted in, their MLS Next Pro team (Crown Legacy) might be moved to a nearby city and located in a new or different stadium. Feels a little bit like the MLB AAA or AA ball strategy.

I have a little bit of a hard time believing they’d be moved. Their stadium at Matthews Sportsplex is perfectly adequate (though it’s a PITA to get in and out of that park) without spending any more money. I think they’d probably stay put.
