More UNC system budget cuts

UNC worst-case budget looks grim, CharlotteObserver.com

I’m sure there is plenty of fat still available to be trimmed in Chapel Hill.

clt says there is still money for north carolina taxpayers to pay dean smith.

Some loon throws jab at Niner football in comments.

Worst case scenarios always look grim.

I can see a glut of money for the other 16 universities coming from closing JUST ONE campus.

See ya Pembroke!

5% budget reductions likely being recommended today. Students choose your future courses wisely, offerings will probably be cut.

UNC estimates more job losses, Raleigh News-Observer

clt would close uncp and uncc

pembroke and culowhee, of course

This could be not so good for Charlotte. You know the mothership isn´t going to lose.

I don’t think we’ll be hard pressed for the cuts, although everyone will definitely see them in some way. Woodward is heading up this thing for the new president and both have worked in the Charlotte region as leaders of universities, so I do believe they will take it into account that we are currently the only UNC school in the Charlotte metro area which is the largest in the state, while State and Chapel Hill have a lot of overlap (an argument for WCU, App, and UNCA could be made too).

Most of the programs that would be most in jeopardy of getting cut at UNC Charlotte are those Woodward himself worked to get here. I don’t see him recommending many of those get cut. Thanks God we’re no where near another UNC System school. That will help us a lot too.

HA! no argument about tuition increase vs. adding football is ever allowed again. We are still the cheapest upper tier university in the state.
