Hot take: Oscar voters kinda suck. Too lazy to watch all the movies and don’t even know the history…

I’m struggling to think of a performance of his that I didn’t enjoy. Most of the stuff he did was great. One of my faves growing up.

True he was good in everything he did and he did a ton. I’m weird though, Hoosiers is one of least favs of his.

Not Hackman, but on the subject of sports movies it is absolutely astounding to me that anyone can make through Field of Dreams. Just pure silliness to me.

Best sports movie. That would be a good thread…

It’s all subjective. For me, Field of Dreams and Hoosiers are among the best sports movies.

Always laugh when some - typically sports talk radio - play the ā€œmovie policeā€ - on what’s best and what isn’t. If you like it, fine. And if you don’t, that’s fine too!

Totally agree. I’m not a wrestling fan but one of my all timers is Vision Quest.

I would never tell anybody what to watch. Hell I still think Caddyshack is funny as hell

Go ahead and do a top 5 sports movies. I’m going to think about my list. Some obvious ones, but it might be hard to whittle it down to 5.

Did she oversee the animated stories too? These have been the better stories since the sequels released.

I enjoyed the arc of Ashoka through Clone Wars, and Rebels. It ended up being a great story.

Bad Batch was a fun watch, but it was more of a story in the galaxy rather than a Star Wars story.

Tech yes under LucasFilm but Dave filoni was basically allowed to run with it. He’s probably on a short list to take over for her but I don’t think he has what it takes his steps in live action haven’t been great and I’m not sure he can handle anything he didn’t create.

There is a lot of smoke that Kevin Feige is next in line to take over.

He burned a lot of his goodwill though with the Marvel run after Endgame. He would have been a home run in 2019.

Agreed that was mostly Filoni with limited tampering.

Though he deviated a good bit from the original Clone Wars movie. And I thought the later run of the animated stuff was still pretty hit and miss (there were some really great moments mixed in there though, to be sure).

The weird thing is that Clone Wars and Rebels are the Star Wars my kids know. Not the movies. I mean they’ve seen the movies, but the animated stuff is what they first think of when you say Star Wars.

They fully checked out of everything else after Last Jedi aside from some of Mando and they gave Boba Fett a try before quitting after a couple of episodes. They don’t care for any of the live action stuff Disney has done outside of Rogue One (the only movie they ever bring up).

My youngest absolutely loves skeleton crew. It’s a show that IF the franchsie was clicking would have been a big hit imo.

KF rumor is interesting. A few years ago supposedly he pitched some SW stuff with Disney brass but kk shut it down. He’s supposedly a bigger SW fan than he is a comic fan. He knows about adapting source material. They could do far worse. He’s not on his high point but it might be a safe pick.

I loathe this woman.

She has lost Disney hundreds of millions of dollars because of personal agenda.

She has dirt on someone. There is no other explanation. Anyone else would have been fired years ago.

Yeah I don’t understand how she is allowed to stay in her position after such horrible performance.
