Excited about going to the movies for the first time in a while. Final MI, F1, Nobody 2, 28 years later… Things are looking up @ the theater.
Why did I think Christian Bale was a lot bigger than Cage? Weird.
Best Memorial Day weekend in a long time, at least in terms of gross $:
this weekend delivered the best collective Memorial Day weekend haul with $322 million across all films. It’s been more than a decade since this many people went to the movies over the holiday frame; the prior record was established in 2013 with $314 million across all films, led by “Fast & Furious 6,” “The Hangover Part III” and “Star Trek Into Darkness.”
Lilo & Stitch absolutely crushed. Families loved it even though it’s nearly identical to the animated version.
Mission Impossible 8 narrowly beat out the MI7 for the best opening weekend in series history. I went to see this one. It’s a very good, but not great movie. It plays like a drawn out goodbye to all the series regulars and a few characters you haven’t seen in a long time. Probably could have been cut down by a good 20 minutes, but it is still worth seeing at the theater. Personally I really appreciate that Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie are all about entertaining the audience, and they are genuinely grateful for audiences coming to see their movies.
“Fast Times at Ridgemont High”
That movie created two memorable moments. We all know the first one, well most of us. I’m referring to the music. Anytime I hear the Cars “Moving in Stereo” I immediately think of the pool scene. Similarly, whenever I hear Jackson Browne’s “Somebody’s Baby” I immediately think of the baseball dugout scene. Great freaking movie.
So weird you mention this movie, I watched about half of it yesterday after not seeing it for years.
But yes great movie.
“He really goes to school here? I thought they just flew him in for games!”
“I can fix it ! My dads a tv repairman and has an ultimate set of tools”!
My brother’s gonna kill us! He’s gonna kill us!" “My brother’s gonna shit!”
“Make up your mind, dude, is he gonna shit or is he gonna kill us?”
“First he’s gonna shit, then he’s gonna kill us!”
I hope you had a hell of piss Arnold!
Watched A Complete Unknown. Thought it was great. The girl who played Joan Baez has major star potential I think.
Highly recommended.
Yep, Monica Barbaro’s supporting role in Top Gun: Maverick has certainly been a boon for her acting career.
