MVC Commish hints towards conference clash?

The BracketBusters event involves a leap of faith by coaches and athletic directors, to have someone schedule two games a year for them, essentially. I think there probably would not be a universal acceptance of more games being scheduled for teams in our league. It almost has to be either-or, because ADā€™s and basketball coaches have such differing philosophies from school to school. On a limited basis, I would love to see a challenge series that would include schools like Xavier, Dayton, Charlotte, Gonzaga, Davidsonā€¦ teams that have had a run of success and are expected to be good. But crossing conference lines beyond BracketBusters, there would be an appetite for that.

I donā€™t know if he means a MVC vs A10 series, but the fact that the first three schools mentioned are A10 schools, along with rumors brought up on this board makes me think that.

would make since seeing how we regularly schedule teams from the MVC in this conference. it only makes since.

I WOULD LOVE IT.

Owwwā€¦ interestingā€¦

Interesting tidbit: midmajority.com doesnā€™t cover the A10, because it doesnā€™t feel theyā€™re midmajor.
Interesting tidbit: midmajority.com doesnā€™t cover the A10, because it doesnā€™t feel theyā€™re midmajor.
Thatā€™s because the A10 is NOT mid-major. Not according to ESPN.

If it gets a worthwhile opponent in here to watch, Iā€™m down.

ESPN writers have referred to Xavier as midmajor before. Theoretically, if they are, all of the A10 is.

If you leap buildings in a single bound it does. Itā€™s not what your called itā€™s what you do.

Gonzaga would be a good game. I just donā€™t want us to get matched up with a Monmouth.

This was posted on Monday on the A10 boards:

Phil does these every year and I think its really frickinā€™ cool:

Some interesting points so far:
-Riveraā€™s return is not 100% certain
-there has been some ā€˜talksā€™ between MVC and A10 about lining up a ā€˜challengeā€™ but seems that not enough interest on either side
-Hawk Talk will go on despite the writersā€™ strike
