Not pulling links, but I have seen at least the following since draft day:
Charlotte
UNCC
UNC-Charlotte (a favorite of the Cleveland Plain Dealer)
UNC Charlotte
Carolina 49ers
North Carolina - Charlotte
North Carolina Charlotte
BUT THE BRAND IDENTITY IS STRONG AND THERE IS NO NAME CONFUSION - Phil Dubois
UNCC
UNC-C
UNC Charlote
UNC-Charlotte
North Carolina Charlotte
North Carolina at Charlotte
North Carolina-Charlotte
University of Charlotte (wooohoo)
Charlotte University
Carolina 49ers
We Charlotte 49ers alums are very proud of our first draft pick, Larry Ogunjobi! However, we noticed that the school is named incorrectly on the website for his official bio. While the name of the school remains University of North Carolina at Charlotte (or UNC Charlotte), the Athletics Department has been known as simply âCharlotteâ since a re-brand in August of 2000. We get the name confusion all the time, and understand why it occurs (although our Chancellor, who refuses to change the universityâs name in full, apparently does not), but would very much appreciate your organization correcting Mr. Ogunjobiâs bio on the website to reflect the proper name, âCharlotte.â Please see the third page of this pdf in the upper right hand corner, in our recent basketball media guide, showing the desire to use âCharlotteâ or âCharlotte 49ersâ in all media coverage.

Email I just sent to the Browns, ccâd Dubois:

twice now iâve logged into a banking/financial account from a new laptop and had to answer a series of questions to confirm who i was prior to setting up security questions. Houses iâve lived in, cars iâve owned, etc.
Both times âwhat college did you attendâ is a multiple choice question UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA is an option
Itâs sad that I was unsure what to answer.
clt says football is opening so many doors for exposure, and we are tripping over the sill.
CHP cited athletics, and football in particular, as the âfront porchâ of the university. Seems to me heâd be smart enough to remove the name of that other school from our mailbox.

Just got an email from my workâs Charlotte market president to enter a contest to win tickets to the Belk college kick off game, a panthers preseason game, or a âUNC-Charlotte 49âersâ football game. Click on the link for the sign up and it says âUNCC 49âersâ
Google is automatically sending me notifications about the San Fran / Kansas City football score tonight, probably because of my interest in the 49ers :))
