But isnât that what we thought about football? If there was a real grassroots movement like we had for football, especially due to all of the UNC controversy, it could make a real push for a name change.

The current chancellor will not entertain the idea. Period. The other challenge is football was a pretty easy issue to make the case for. The name change will be harder because many people LIKE being confused with Chapel Hill and our administration likes being associated with them. I want the name change as bad as the next guy, but we need to get a new chancellor in here who will be receptive to the change.

Yup. Letâs also not forget that the current chancellor hired a market research firm to figure out why the public is not aware of us and our accomplishments, said market research firm came back and said âpeople are aware, they just donât know that itâs you doing it because your name is stupidâ and our current chancellorâs response to said market research firm findings was:

This is also the current chancellorâs response if he is ever challenged on this topic by email or otherwise.
UNC-Chapel Hill Admissions just tweeted this. The photo is of an active learning classroom on UNC Charlotteâs campus (Kennedy 236), not from UNC-Chapel Hill.

LOL, they deleted the tweet.
I sent this to a buddy of mine that is an actual UNC-CH graduate with a picture from the link to our website. His reply: âMore likely UNCC just copied us⌠like they copied our name. I also noted that the room pictured at Charlotte is emptyâŚperhaps there should be an investigation as to why no students are actually studying. Maybe theyâve decided to copy our âacademic supportâ model as well.â
Got to appreciate his sense of humor. ;D

He was poking fun at UNC-CH. You know, their âacademic supportâ model has nobody studying. I thought it was pretty funny.
They can gladly have their s*itty name.
Iâm too lazy to look up the article but after the ODU game, their beat writer for one of the papers up there (they have a beat writer, so weird) referred to us as:
The University of Charlotte at North Carolina
and followed it up with âas they are officially knownâ haha (he was referring to use as Charlotte throughout the article).

Theyâve fixed it, but Google cached it.
Subtle yet annoying.

Caption: âI know what youâre about to sayâŚbut we had one of our interns look at all 37 twitter accounts for this made-up school up the road and the conclusion they came to was some sort of name-melding had to be appropriate, so we decided on UNC, Charlotte. We were going to put a question mark at the end but we ran out of characters.â
unc? Charlotte.
This is what TWC/ Spectrumâs TV Guide shows for 20/20 tonight.
Aside from the error in the synopsis, I donât believe this guy and the other (now deceased) did it.
Freaking 10 years ago I started this thing. Crazy.
Thanks for keeping this going, Nation.
