UNC Charlotte is in a new category which is good… where we should be. But, according to the article, we have not moved up nor down… not good when you think of how much Charlotte is growing compared to other regions.

Thanks. So I think it’s safe to say that football will help us in a few of those categories. (student selectivity, alumni giving, financial resources, etc.)
We are now a 4th tier national university. Other 4th tier universities are ECU, UNCG, and Memphis.

why does what we rank matter, shouldn’t we just look at what UNC Chapel Hill gets and just take that as our ranking? I mean isn’t it their prestige that helps us move along?

They changed it a couple of years ago to that. Trying to get the jump on us I guess. (which they did)
Probably thought what everyone here was whining about was a GOOD idea. Imagine that … listening to alumni, citizens of the community, students, etc. Innovative thinking.
