Of course, the Redick hire reminds me a certain school took the chance in the 1980s on a Duke guy with no coaching experience who was also a TV hoops analyst. Plus his main job was selling cars!

I don’t see it being remotely analogous.
I see it as slightly analogous. They were both good players in college and pro.
No coaching experience.
The difference is that one is the pros with a lot more pressure and a completely different relationship with the players.
Reddick might do great. There have been successful hires for former players without coaching experience into coaching.
But it just seems risky to me. Plus the optics are weird because apparently he is tight with Lebron.
I cannot wait to see what they do for Bronny James.
And is someone else going to draft Bronny just to piss off the Lakers and Lebron. I doubt it. Most teams don’t like to bring in pissed of players.
Interesting take. I guess if you’re strictly basing it off of defense that would make sense. But Giddey is 9 years younger, taller, averages more points and assists than Caruso and has a lower salary.
I see this as an actual win/win. Caruso is a career backup. He’s an excellent backup for SGA. I see Giddey helping the Bulls if Ball never gets healthy. White is not an ideal assists PG.

I think Giddy is way overrated.
He can’t shoot. He can’t guard.
He has good passing that’s about it.
Going to be interesting to see what the Bulls do cause this is not a positive move for their outlook next year.
Something tells me Tristan Da Silva is this years Jamie Jaquez but I don’t think you can take him at 6. Gotta swing for more upside.
Kelel Ware is extremely intriguing to me. Because of his outside shot. I think someone may get a steal there.

Who has Giddy highly rated? If you like Caruso over Giddy, thats fine. Just didn’t think it was a bend over trade. I’d save that if an all star was traded for Caruso.

They traded a mediocre role player (Giddy) for a proven winning role player, who was a major contributor to an NBA championship.
You do remember Caruso being a major contributor when the Lakers won the title right?
