NCAA to evaluate "access" rules

From the Daily Word with Andy Katz:

NCAA To Evaluate ‘Access’ Rules

Friday, Oct. 8: The NCAA management council will review two key proposals by the basketball coaches association on Oct. 18-19 in Indianapolis but won’t vote on the matter during this session. These two proposals – allowing freshmen to play in exhibitions before deciding whether to redshirt them and watching their own players in pickup games – are two of the crucial “access” rules for coaches. The redshirt rule is common sense. Freshmen should be allowed to play in exhibition games before a redshirt decision is made. Watching pickup games in the offseason is harmless and is, by far, the most broken of any NCAA rule.
