New Football Coach

Using the criteria that Hill used to find us a basketball coach, could we begin to speculate on a football coach?

Doing no research what so ever, not being concerned about money or readiness to be a college head coach, here is who Iā€™m thinking of as Lambertā€™s replacement.

Mel Tucker - DC - Georgia
SHane Beamer - OC - Oklahoma (or Ruffin)
Jim Leonhard - Wisconsin
Ryan Day - Ohio State

Hill has said ā€œLambert is well respected nationaly in the football communityā€
make of that what you will, could just be nice words or he could be laying a foundation to keep him if we win 5 games this year

Not sure what you expect from Hill at this point. He hasnā€™t made a statement that shows full-fledge support for Lambert. He canā€™t come out and say heā€™s DOA.

He canā€™t let him go at this point either. Let this year play out, virtually no chance he stays.

clt says Hill likely already has a candidate.

Mike Houston. For every naysayer, there has been no mention of him taking other jobs this off-season. He is still on the board. We are damn fools if we donā€™t at least talk to him.

Phil will be a big hindrance on any coaching hire. If appears he thinks if you hire a coach with any personality theyā€™ll transform us into Louisville.

Houston just signed a big deal w/JMU says heā€™s happy and not going anywhere.

His happiness at JMU has no bearing on whether or not we should try to lure him away.

Exactly, you are happy and never leaving until you do.

That contract wonā€™t stop him or a school that really wants him.

Much like the Earl Grant extension, it makes sure that the school gets paid when he does get poached. Think of it as a finderā€™s fee.
