Let me save you the 40 minutes Iāll never get back from this weekās Pickaxe Podcast.
-
Hunter hates covering coach search speculation, but likes dropping f-bombs.
-
Jeremy doesnāt care anymore, and thinks we should be happy with Brewster.
-
Hannah now has silver hair.
Just listened to the podcast and hereās my take:
Yes, Hunter did drop a couple f-bombs in close succession while discussing the down sides of reporting on job searches. Said he would like to see Tim Albin get the job.
Jeremy did NOT say NN should be happy with Brewster. Definitely doesnāt like speculation. Wants to talk tangible matters.
Hannahās hair looks blonde to me but then I suffer from a bit of color blindness so canāt be certain about that!
It almost seemed like Jeremy was trying to blame fan pressure for Hunter possibly giving out inaccurate information. He also talked about agents and others wanting to feed them bad information to benefit themselves or the coach they represent. I know itās a tough situation but we have about 100 fans who care enough to pressure a reporter for the scoop on a coaching search. The pressure coming from us is nothing compared to what it would be at a P4. Just give information you know is accurate and from a reliable source or put it out there as a rumor. I really appreciate their coverage and the podcast but it seemed like this episode was a little more cover my ass than anything else. Maybe I just took it the wrong way.
clt remembers when we had reporters and columnists. reporters provided the facts of the story and columnists offered hot takes.
In my best George Carlin voice.
Hannah:
SUPER funā¦
SUPER excitedā¦
Hunter:
Thats SICKā¦
SICKā¦
Whole episode was for an audience of one.
Hearing their description Hill is looking for a moral righteous man who wants to be here and come in and stay for 7 or 8 years. I dont know how that fits the G5 equation and the NIL landscape of today and especially since we just fired a glorified Boys Club of America mentor who happened to have a FB program under his direction.
Sometimes it seems we are still operating under the old set of rules while the world of college sports is changing dailyā¦
Yrah, that was my issue. If you are looking for a guaranteed long term coach, they are at best hovering around 500
Interesting episode once i got beyond the ACC shit.
clt says know your audience, acc talk aināt for us
