New Women's Coach?

Who do you guys think we will get to replace Amanda Butler? She did a great job, and will be hard to replace. However, whoever inherits the team will be left with a ton of solid players.

I think I remember someone saying we might be interested in ECU’s coach, Sharon Baldwin-Tener. There’s also Pat Summit.

yeah - i heard somewehre pat was tired of singing rockytop… and that for some reason norm was the most appealing mascot she ahd ever seen - maybe its those abs he likes to show off?

That ex LSU coach still available? I hear she really loves her players.

plus Bobby is not known to paint his chest green and creep out large portions of the country.

LOL.
We don’t need any of the players to be felt up by the coach.

Mrs. Lutz

we do a pretty good job already of keeping AD opps within the family, so why not?

I mentioned Sharon Baldwin-Tener; she’s pretty good.

Lisa Stockton at Tulane has turned out a lot of assistants that turned into good head coaches (Katie Meier is one of them). That might be a place to start.

demote Judy Rose

Why punish the girls w/ Judy?

Baldwin-Tener would be on my short list.

I wonder if she’ll get back into coaching at all.

I had an opportunity to talk to somebody in the industry that I would consider to be a good source and was told that it would be very difficult for Pokey Chatman to get back into college coaching. It isn’t the lesbian problem, it is messing with a student/athlete that has killed her career. Asst. Coach in the WNBA maybe. Who would notice?

I think I should start a thread with some new rumour.

Maybe one about how Carlos Williams isn’t really from Louisville, and that he is really from Lexington Kentucky. would that go over well?

We need to get somebody who can recruit locally, there is a ton of talent in the city. Butler was making some progress in that respect by getting that girl from Vance last year.

I have a serious candidate that we should look at. Kellie Harper at Western Carolina. She has done an outstanding job there. She went to the tourney last year and this year won the conference regular season. We should pursue her if at all possible. Great young coach

Don’t the girls practice over the summer, too? Who is in charge of them at the moment, since Butler took the whole staff to Florida?

Lisa Stockton played at Wake Forest and grew up in Greensboro, so her NC ties make her a good choice. Her situation at Tulane is pretty good $wise, facilities wise I think North Meck’s basketball arena is nicer than Fogleman Arena in New Orleans.

Harper was a damn good guard for UT. You have to bring her husband as an assistant coach. It also might be the return of former 49ers assistant Stephanie McCormick. Well…

I’d feel awkward being my wife’s assistant women’s basketball coach.
