Oh man… Wow. ![]()

I guess it’s another sign that I’m getting old now, but anyone under 40 probably doesn’t understand what an enormous star Redford was. I hadn’t heard anything about him being in ill health or anything. I guess it’s been a few years but he was in Avengers Endgame, amongst other fairly recent movies.
This is a guy who has a separate Wikipedia page for his filmography because it’s just too massive.

I have only been casually paying attention, but I have seen far too many stories about violence in that area. You don’t have to be on some kind of ideological crusade to see that crime has become a serious problem there. The city needs to get serious about doing something about it.
As of now, I am not crazy about bringing my family downtown for events because of all these incidents.
I’m pretty convinced that most of the mass shooters are suffering from mental health issues and if we had proper investment in mental health monitoring treatment and facilities things would improve.
I have family in law enforcement now retired who repeatedly told me that the places they could take the mentally ill to get help or be kept safely have eroded immensely over previous decades.
I have no problem with my tax dollars getting dangerous mentally ill people off our streets. It’s almost like that’s something government should be doing. Yes that was facetious.
this comment will probably be inflammatory but I also think child mental health and criminal records need to be unsealed and accessible by law enforcement to try to identify at risk people who pop up on their radar in adulthood. These problems start when you’re a kid. Many people will only come on the authorities radar while they are in the school system and after then drop away until they commit a crime.
I know that flys in the face of our culture about not ruining a kids life for what they did as a kid but I’m not talking about a kid who got caught smoking weed or shoplifting. I’m talking about signs that point to mental problems that could manifest later in life as a threat to our community. It’s harsh but children grow to adults and are part of our society. And society has a right to protect itself.

I wonder what happens to the land? All the surrounding former farmland long Mallard Creek Road has been redeveloped into apartments. Hopefully they keep the ball fields and it becomes a park like area opposed to more apartments.
clt says that land will be luxury apartments
