I remember driving around downtown and midtown Charlotte at like 2 AM by myself with my windows down and my doors unlocked in the early to mid 90s. Only other car I might see would be a bored looking cop half asleep. Completely safe.
It’s a shame what this entire metro area has become. I don’t think there’s any area in the entire Charlotte MSA that’s safe anymore.

Pet peeve of mine is truckers that sit in the passing lane doing at or under the speed limit and blocking traffic.
