Similarly, we donât struggle to put 5k in Halton, we struggle to sell it out. 5k is easy. The point being, there is a solid, albeit smaller fan base out there. You just have to market it properly instead of being lazy and totally ignoring it. Most big markets were at one time niche markets that grew when they were properly developed. Asking Niner fans to buy the crap they are shown now is not going to cut it. Letâs start by improving the quality and cashing in the license.
This board represents the most rabid Charlotte fans and I would bet that most on this board would not spend $70 on a nike game shirt or $30 on a nike charlotte hat.Why donât we let the board decide that, instead of letting you decide for them? I think our fans deserve at least that much respect. Would be nice to show it to them for a change.

Wow, I guess I went way overboard there. That changes everything. :ponder:

How am I deciding that for them? I am speculating and if you think that this board membership would make a difference in apparel sales you are nuts. Just because a dozen claim they would buy a Nike Curtis Withers jersey, doesnât mean there is a market.

Wow, thatâs really going out on a limb. And when and if this market grows, Iâm sure the people at Nike will tap into it.
Campus Sports tried to sell the more expensive apparel and nobody bought it. They sold more Niner gear than anyone and they were lucky to break even every month. It took us beating ECU by 35 and getting the entire store marked down 35% to get anyone to spend more than $25 dollars there. Look where it got them. Now itâs a flower shop.

No, our average attendance is more like 7000, according to the athletic department but those are not acual fans in seats, that is tickets sold and given away each game. Like the announced âselloutsâ where there are 1000 empty seats in the upper level. Fact is that we only put about an average of 5000/game in that arena. So I think saying we struggle to get 5000/game is quite accurate.
I know you will go back and forth with this all day but I wonât. I think Nike knows a little more about marketing their products than you do, so I will just cite their decision as the best argument against you and watch as you try to show us all how much smarter you are than the best marketed sporting goods company in the world.
gotta agree with pi here

We must be crazy to 2nd guess them or you Pi.
I think you guys need to get together at the game tonight and have a big hug!!!
