Niner Baseball 2013

Our season begins Feb 15 with a 4 game home stand against Delaware State. Other noteworthy home games worth mentioning are Kent State (they made it to Omaha last year), March 8, 9, and 10th, Wake on Mar 6, VA Tech on Mar 12, NC State on Apr 16.

This should be another interesting season.

This is a big year. We need to show that last year was a fluke and run away with the A-10 title on our way out.

What better way to go out of the A-10 than to win the Tourney on our own field!!

Good Q and A with Hibbs here:

We are picked to finish 4th in the A-10 by the coaches.

I’m nervous about our pitching, and defense, but we are absolutely loaded at the dish. Word on the street is Basen will play short, and John Hamilton will be a Starter.

Please tell me we’re at GW this year…

Lew, GW plays at Charlotte thus year Apr 12-14. Sorry. We are going to miss you at the games this year.

I’m going to miss me at games this year.

Sorry, was that arrogant?

I don’t care. This is a baseball thread. I’m in character.

Arrogant? Maybe, but that’s ok. We’re used to it.

Speaking of Lew, I heard a rumor that the student section is going to be moved from the third base (visiting) to the first base side.

Niners 13 - Del St 7

attendance: 1142

Great game by the Niners; we look great. It was nice to see Mr. Bojangles, Alumnus, Mr. H., good student section and last but not least the “Uh Huh” guy at the game. ;D

I wonder why they moved the student section to the home side. Maybe there was an “incident” last year?

They actually did it?

No surprise, I’m sure lots of visiting teams had plenty of complaints about the on-deck circle being within talking distance of the student section. We were in their heads before they even got to the plate.

Sadly, our AD is more interested in kissing the visitor’s ass than providing the best home-field advantage for our Boys in Green. Seriously, the home field was obvious for us.

I’d last all of two innings at an away game.

Looking forward to it.

To make up for it, they put Uh-Huh in the front row, right next to their on-deck circle. Not that it makes that much difference where he’s sitting / standing, you can definitely hear him.

Not saying that this is the reason they were moved, but I have heard that some folks were unhappy with our students getting food from the concession stands for the other team during games last year.

Wait, seriously?

Oh, holy shit. Now I’ve heard it all.
