Nice to the ACC Observer wrote a[I] little[/I] piece about the [B]HOMETOWN[/B] Niners getting 3rd in the [B]NATION[/B]. Some might say it’s golf - no one cares, I contend that Charlotte is a golf town and more people would care if the paper would write about it more. Luckily next year looks promising and the Observer will get another chance to give them the love they deserve instead of burying the Niners on 9C.

Anyways, Heres a quesitons. Say next year we are in the final rounds of the Tourney again, only this time we are first, and since there is was soo much hype, a bunch of students decide to go. Would rushing the course be unorthodox? How about facepaint and chants?

Not unorthodox… just wait until ALL the golfers/teams are finished! You could wait to rush the awards ceremony… painted faces and all. (I’ll contend that painted faces is as far as you wanna go on a golf course though.)

We were on the front page of the Sports section. Actually 3 articles on the frotn sports page about us. Thats good coverage. I think it was in the weekend edition to.

It is awesome when we get "the best coverage we're probably ever gonna have" but if it is still sub par, it doesn't mean you don't complain about it. The kind of coverage we get is still unacceptable so there is no reason we can't complain. Complaining is about all we can do to hope and get this changed. Hurray for getting covered, but 9C is still bulls#it.
We beat UNC-CH in the Regionals & the Nationals.
An athletic administator guy at the Regionals in Atlanta told me that UNC-CH hates to play us because we are consisently ahead of them at every golf tourney both of us are in.

Honestly, for college golf, I don’t think first page of the sports section is warranted every week. That much coverage for the championship is pretty good, IMHO.
