Its a state with lots of solid prospects and is within a respectable geographic footprint. Go where the players are.

I’m sure we also pitching to kids that over their 4 years we will at least play 2 games down there (FAU & FIU).

I can understand that, but I’d love to see us establish a good foothold here too. I actually was born and raised in Ft Lauderdale and grew up going to St Thomas Aquinas games so I understand the talent pool, but it just seems like for every NC offer that goes out 3 FL offers go out. Not a bad pipeline state to have, but gotta establish ourselves here too.

A FL recruit’s scholarship costs us twice what a NC recruit’s does.

I am ignoring the argument some make that scholarships come out of the Athletic pocket and go into the Academic pocket of the same pair of pants, resulting in no true cost.

The 3:1 ratio may not be true, but it just seems like that to me.
