could we have left out the score!? I was happy to have forgotten that! :weep:
So do you blame the Observer when students don't show up for games as well?I assume they read the Observer too. We need support from the residents in Charlotte to support FOOTBALL. The ******* O made sure we received no support during the years when we should have been getting that support.
Ok⦠back on the subject. Weāve done Davidson a favor by playing them at their place every other year for quite some time now. Since they now have an attitude, I say we start specifying the terms. Curry will be gone soon and things will return to normal. I prefer to play them in Halton at least 2 out of every 3 years.

hah how about⦠charlotte 2 years, bobcats 1 year. You know, to make all the TWC ppl happy.
Thats what all other schools do right?

Yep, I really enjoyed the ECU games as bascially my whole family is from near that area and could go to the game. My brother, an ECU grad, still gives me grief about that game.
You sure about that? I'm not a stat guy but I'm pretty sure we didn't play ECU after we left CUSA.
I thought we played in Charlotte 2 years agoā¦might have been thinking of a game at Wake, though. For some reason I thought we played both you and Wake that year. I guess not.
Iād love to see us play a series with ECU. At least they bring a lot of fans to Halton. The last time they came, it was a pretty good atmosphere. Only the next time they will have to leave their āwe have footballā chants at home.
Iād also like to see us start a weekend series with them in baseball.

Yeahā¦although I think you would have taken us this past year in baseball.
Since the trophy is the reward for being county D-I champs and the fact that the Hornetsā Nest is a direct reference to Mecklenburgās Revolutionary War history, not sure how playing a school from South Carolina would work on that one. Plus the fact that Davidson College-namesake William Lee Davidson was a brigadier general in the Continental Army who fought against British general Charles Cornwallis ā the same Cornwallis who referred to Charlotte as a āhornetsā nest of rebellionā while in the county in 1780. Thus ends the history lesson for today⦠
True. However, areānt the Niners free to use the same interpretation of ālocalā as the Observer does? That being the case the Niners can define what the Hornestās Nest Trophy is to be about. The Niners should not feel obligated to restrict themselves to Meck county in choosing an opponent for the next Hornets Nest competition.

Toucheā! UNCCH! YOUāRE GOING DOWN!!!
Iāve said it once and Iāll say it againā¦local teams bring a unique buzz and excitement to Halton. ECU, UNCG, App State, Winthrop, UNCW, whatever. We should be playing these teams regularly.

plus it makes us look nice when NONE OF THEM BEAT US.

My guess is a permanent neutral site game is in the not too distant future.
My guess is a permanent neutral site game is in the not too distant future. Why would we want to play you at a neutral site? You'll be lucky if it's not 2-for-1 after this year.

Is that guess based on any inside info or just a gut feeling?
Why would we want to play you at a neutral site? You'll be lucky if it's not 2-for-1 after this year. And that should be 2 games at Halton and one at the Downtown Arena. This is the ONLY year Davidson has brought anything to the table and now they're trying to back out. Let them enjoy those games against Wofford and The Citadel in their tiny little gym.

They ditch our game date to play none other than the notorious Bob Hugginsā Mountaineers. If they are trying to drive us mad, it might just work.

Actually last year is the only year considering the elite 8 run, they wonāt be as good this year without their point guard.
