Saw the smallest of blurbs in this morning’s paper about the roster for the World University Games, which highlighted the fact that 2 players from Stanford made the team! Former 49er Vincent Grier (Minnesota) of Charlotte also made the team, as did Eric Hicks (Cincy) of Greensboro. Brendan Winters (Davidson) just missed, as he was among the last players cut.
Got me to thinking – that would have been a nice tune-up for Curt & Co.'s U-21 squad to have taken on Grier’s Gang prior to heading to Argentina.
