We all want to know why we don’t get the respect of the area and media. Here is an excellent look at what our community thinks of us. Most hammer on the poor conference we are now in, seasonal failures in the NCAA and lack of football. All three of these are normal topics on this board, but brings to light these are MAJOR issues. IF this school is ever going to go “bigtime” these things need to be resolved. This city and community needs to embrace us. The comment that hurts most is the poster that says if given a choice between seeing Winthrop play and us he would choose Winthrop because they are coached better and play better. That is not good for our Niners.
Charlotte is a turd of a program that has high expectations every year yet they consistently fall well below those expectations. And you know what they say…You can’t polish a turd!

I also think riding the coattails of another institution is too. By and large, reputable schools don’t play the alphabet soup game. More and more the SUNY schools are being permitted to move away from it, with absolutely no loss in quality.
You have SUNY Binghamton --------> Binghamton University (they also went from DIII to DI-AAA during this time, and continue to add facilities)
You have University at Albany… at isn’t off, but it beats SUNY Albany. Won’t be suprised if we get Geneseo University before long either.
We either need to cowboy up as an institution or we’re going to keep looking like brokeback mountain.
I agree they are seriously retarded, but this is the community we are in and the fans we need to win over. What is bad is that obviously the issues we have (Lutz, football, coverage, Judy Rose, attendance) are glaring problems to more than just us.
