Okay, now on to next year...

Lutz is our coach, we’ve got some good players coming back and into the program, and we will be playing in the A-10.

Here’s what I want to see happen with mens BBall, our flagship sport:

  • I wanna see Lutz and Co go through the A-10 schedule like sh@t through a goose -> that means winning the regular season title, and the trn title.

  • I wanna see Lutz and Co advance in the NCAA again.

  • I WANT A NEW AD!!! One with vision and who is proactive and willing to take risks.

  • I want passion in the athletic admin office, and Dubois office so that when I set foot on campus for something as big as UC vs the Niners, it’s obvious a major event is happening on Campus.

  • I want the students who were vocal on spirit last season to get all the support they need to start there own traditions.

  • I want Dubois to start the name change process ASAP!!!

  • I want action taken to get the Niners going on I-AA football so that when realignment comes up again, we are sitting ‘at the table’.

'Nuff said. Much to do, but all very doable.

GO NINERS!!!

Yea! I want the girl in the hat!

I want a billboard on I-77 that states “This is Charlotte 49er Basketball Country”. I want to start a funding drive from members on this board to make it happen.

Here's some basics from a wesite I found....

Billboard Advertising

Costs of Billboard Advertising
How much does billboard advertising cost? Are the costs of billboard advertising worth the money? Using billboards to advertise your products and services might be a smart move, and billboard prices might be less than you think.

Billboard advertising can be an effective and cost-efficient way for entrepreneurs to spread the word about their products and services. The Outdoor Advertising Association of America estimates that U.S. businesses spent more than $5.5 billion on outdoor advertising in 2003 and is anticipating a healthy increase in 2004. No matter how you slice it, billboard advertising is on the rise in America.

There are a number of reasons for the recent surge in billboard advertising, not the least of which is cost efficiency. Compared to other forms of advertising, billboards are a relatively inexpensive way to get your point across to the general public.

Consider this: A newspaper ad is only good for a day and a television commercial only lasts about thirty seconds. But a billboard ad is working for you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

The cost of billboard advertising ranges from about $700 to $2,500 a month. At that rate, ten billboards could run as much as $25,000 per month. That sounds like a lot of money, until you realize that a full-page ad running for one day in a major newspaper costs about the same.

Advances in technology have also contributed to billboard advertising’s cost efficiency. In the past, billboards had to be hand-painted – a time-consuming and costly venture. But with today’s computer technology, billboards are designed on a computer screen, printed to vinyl or poster paper, and glued to the billboard structure. The result: Higher quality ads in less time for less money.

Before you jump into billboard advertising for your business, there are a few things you need to understand.

The amount of information contained in a billboard ad is limited. If you expect your billboard to convey as much information as a print ad – forget it. It’s just not possible. Keep your ads short and catchy. When it comes to billboards think more visuals, fewer words.
Billboards are effective, but they do have their limitations. For that reason, (and others), smart business owners view billboard advertising as one part of a balanced marketing strategy. An integrated marketing strategy involving print, broadcast media, and billboards is key for attracting and retaining new customers.
Know your market. Since the majority of people who own automobiles are typically more affluent and mobile, billboard ads tend to target middle- to upper-income demographics. It also pays to be aware of the traffic patterns of your target customer base. This will be invaluable in helping you find the right placement for your business’ billboard ads.

I want us to play some DAMN DEFENSE!!!

Well, we’ve done the billboards. If I’m not mistaken, we finished 13-16 that season with Bobby’s mug plastered all over Charlotte.

hahaha... ANOTHER BANNER YEAR, baby! We hung a banner in Halton that year... for the women.

Back on topic… I want us to run a set offense.

I want everyone to realize we have a very good coach and support him. We are spoiled with success. I want to win a game in the tournament too and be a sweet sixteen team every year. We have a very good program. We can be great, we need to quit tearing down our coach, and wishing he would go somewhere else. Do we have needs to improve on?

Yes we do. Can they be fixed?
Yes they can.

There is an old saying you don’t know what you have til it was gone.
I can tell you this, we could not have replaced our coach.
The grass is not always greener on the other side.

Everyone quit whinning and support our team!!!

I want to see more of us feeding our big men in the post and less on relying on 3 pointers for offense. We have a much stronger frontcourt than backcourt next year and we need to recognize that.

Yeah, we didn’t realize what a team we had in Feb. until Janruary.
We have never lost a coach yet that we havent replaced. Its no chore to find a coach that can’t win in March.

Depending on how you look at it, it either took us almost 10 years to replace Lee Rose or 20 years if one looks strictly at postseason success.
  1. MUCH Better defense
  2. 70+% FT shooting
  3. NO Technical fouls in close, hotly contested games.

Coach Lutz has a winning record in March and 2 CUSA tournament championships.

How about a billboard which says:

“Bobby Lutz, What are you doing tonight?”

Good post. What good does it do to not support the coach? He’s here…get over it. Support him or choose another school to root for.

As long as Withers is back next year, then we have a more talented and deeper team next year. Throw in being in a slightly weaker conference and we should have a very strong year.

For 05-06…

  • Get a base defense or two and perfect the freakin thing…sure we’ll need to switch it up occasionally depending on the matchups but we give up way too many layups and wide open shots. Gotta be some combination of guys being confused, lack of communication or not making it enough of focus in practice.

  • Adapt the freakin offense to your players…focus on getting Curt, DeAngelo and EJ the ball, focus on how to feed the post and penetrate. High-Low, penetrate and kick and the mid range game are all under utilized with our personnel. Stop living and dying by the freakin 3!

I’m hoping that Lutz has gotten a reality check. I think he’s a decent coach but just doesn’t seem to have grown much in his time here from a coaching standpoint. Seems like a lack of flexibility/too much ego might be factors in that.

Returning his orange sports coat to the store?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…that was just WRONG, jcl :lmao: :smirk:

I want Withers to bring it every night.

I want Alexander to be as good as people say.

I want Bennett to be an improvement at the two.

I want EJ to keep progressing.

I want Iti to get better or sit or leave, I’m not picky.

I want Baldwin to be at least adequate shooting to ball.

I want us to guard somebody.

I want Nace to keep progressing.

I want to make a serious run in the NCAA’s. If Withers comes back, it might be our best chance for a while.

I want to lose 10 lbs (at least) and grow some hair.

i want the golddusters thread to last forever
