OT: Herrion out at CofC

The College of Charleston sacked Tom Herrion after 4 years of lackluster play from the once feared Cougars of the SoCon. Word is CofC wants Buzz Peterson, though the Charleston Post-Courier says a number of major college coaches are recommending their assistants for the position. (Hmmm…wonder if Lutz is recommending Kummer?)

Anyway, hope they get things turned around down there. Always thought CofC would have been a good addition to a revamped A-10, though a reminder they haven’t done anything since John Kresse retired as coach is telling. Still, if I could be A-10 commish for a day, conference membership would include Charlotte, CofC, Dayton, GW, UMass, Rhode Island, Richmond, St. Joe’s, Temple, and Xavier. Imagine that – the Atlantic 10 with 10 members!

The Herrion brothers are the biggest “do nothing” coaches around. Bill’s career went south after the Shack of the MAC left. Good assistants gone bad.
