Huge story on how the 3 former 49er coaches have helped State’s success this year. I don’t think they gave Bobby an article that big the entire time he coached here.

The article looks almost like a monstrous pregame article for tonight’s State/tarhole game, but as Mike P has told us numerous times, the Observer does not do pregame stories.
they had the ball rolling with 5 of 7 tourney appearances… how does that turn into a 5 year drought. Recruiting dropped and no excuses.
I really wished it worked out for Lutz and Co. I loved our coach being an Alumni and his passion he showed on the court… but he wasn’t getting it done when the team moved to the A10.

If you look across the board, few schools have a coach passed the 8-10 year mark. It’s hard to sustain success anywhere for that long.

There comes a point where you’ve just gotta rise above.
Seems that NC ST. is getting way too much credit right now. Most likely won’t make the ncaa tournament and not sure what their signature win is this year. Maybe Miami. This is nothing more than an indirect preview of the lopsided game that will be on tv tonight.
It’s more of a reflection of how bad Lowe was. If they can get a win tonight and win a game or two in the ACC tournament they probably have a decent shot at the NCAA’s. But as of right now they aren’t getting in the tournament without a signature win.

Mtanner, it is not a preview of tonight’s game. We used to be told on a weekly basis the O does not do preview articles for ANY game (actually, I agree 100 percent with you).
Eason, you need to show up at our baseball games this weekend and kick Lew’s ass. He does nothing but cause trouble at those games.

Glad for Bobby as always. No matter who the guy coaches for, I will always favor the team he is coaching just a little bit. Class. Hate it ended, but 2 years ago it made sense (to most of us at least).
