I am shaving my head for charity! My nephew who lives in Portland, OR has a friend with cancer and Sam is shaving his head in a statement of solidarity with his friend. He asked me to donate, and instead I am joining in and trying to help as much as possible. I also currently have three relatives fighting cancer so this holds special meaning for me.
Of course I would love donations as I am trying to raise money, but even if you do not want to donate could you please forward this info to anyone and everyone. The more people who see this, the more money we can raise. Also, if you do not like using credit cards on line and would like to donate there are ways to send or call in a donation, or you can simply get in touch with me by pm.
THE MONEY RAISED GOES TO RESEARCH TO HELP PREVENT PEDIATRIC CANCER and your donation is tax deductible!
Thank you in advance for getting the word out to as many people as possible!

Coach Lipsitz
As if we needed another reason why Coach Lipsitz is the man. I’ll see what I can gather for this.
BUMP for a new day. Got an e-mail last night from Lenka’s Mom (Lenka is my nephew’s friend who has cancer right now). I promise pictures after the shaving next Thursday!
Since “give for football” is being bumped every few hours (and I have absolutely no problem with that) let me bump something else about giving.
While you are thinking about giving $10 or whatever you are going to give for the future of football at Charlotte, how about $10 for kids with cancer. All I ask for is a small matching donation. I want to get to my goal of $1000 before the Thursday head shaving takes place.
Hand it to me and I will use my credit card to make the donation (but in your name). Or I can send it in … but probably easier to just put it on my credit card (the charity actually suggests this method for cash donations)
Just got this e-mail. It’s very fitting that 49 checks were written to some of the top child cancer researchers across the country.
Once again, great job Coach!! You should be very proud.
In the last week of June, I had the privilege of doing something that few people have ever been able to do. I wish you could have looked over my shoulder and shared the joy, because you made it possible.
What was the excitement all about? On your behalf, I signed 49 very big checks, committing a total of over $12 million to some of the country’s top childhood cancer researchers! Every penny was made possible by donors like you, supporting over 25,900 brave “shavees” who sacrificed their hair at St. Baldrick’s events far and wide.
And in October, we’ll do it again! That’s when we’ll make our last round of grants for this year, funding even more researchers to help find new cures for childhood cancer and develop treatments to give children a better quality of life during and after treatment.
Thank you for giving to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation since the beginning of March. (If you also gave during January and February, you should have already received a letter to acknowledge those gifts. Thank you for your patience as we are just catching up from the hectic period of March through June!)
We appreciate every dollar you’ve given and every hour that each shavee and volunteer has dedicated to shaving the way to Conquer Kids’ Cancer!
Your donations have been channeled into grants that will make a world of difference to kids like 6-year-old Aidan who has been fighting leukemia for two years - and for all those who will be diagnosed this week, this month, this year, and beyond.
Thank you for being a hero to kids with cancer!
