Plavich

Plavich couldn’t hit a 3 tonight, but took good 3’s tonight (except for that 35 foot airball). Hit enough FT’s for the win, but could have been better. Good defense and rebounding. I like the fact that he took five 2 point shots compared to six 3 point shots. He didn’t finish, but that ability to drive will make defending him that much tougher. Most of his 2 point shots were runners near the basket. Maybe Lutz can work on a drive to the basket a pull up at 5 - 8 feet and shoot.

yeah he missed a lot of easy lay ups and close shots which seemed to be contagoues on our team tonight with the exception of Eddie. I was glad and surprised to read in the box score he only took 6 3’s.

Ever heard the saying “if you can’t say anything nice…”?

This would apply here.

Plavich was 1-11 and 0-6 on three’s along with 5-8 FT’s.

It was not a good game but please don’t make it worse with comments like this.

It was a win and that is all we should say about this game.

He did hit the last two to ice it, BUT I, and I like the kid, was ready to choke him for missing the two before.

I can deal with the 1-11, it happens. It’s like golf, sometimes the ball doesn’t go in the hole.

BUT, make your damn FTs. No excuse for him to be shooting sub 60% from the line. If he’s got a hair on his ass, he’ll tell you the same thing.

A dude like that, you’ve got to take the good with the bad. He’ll win you some games almost by himself, other nights, he’s a liability. But, he should shoot 85% from the line always.

No, he hit one of two when he could have iced it.

Sadly, both Withers and Baldwin only made one of 2 down the stretch also. Difference is I would take Curt or Mitch at the line any day over Plav.

I thought he made two at the very end?? We were up two and he made both after he got a rebound to put us up four.

He made one of two before that and missed two before that. But, if I get your post, the one he missed earlier could have iced it as well. At least he took advantage of a second or third chance.

He’s got to start hitting at least 4 of 5. No excuse for it.

Yeah, he made the final 2 but missed 2 straight late and went 1-2 on the next to last possesion. He should be better from the line but I guess at this point of his career, he is what he is.

He’s actually improved some as this season as progressed. Unforunately it didn’t show tonight as he shot less then steller from the line. Oh well, I can deal with it as long as we get the W. 8 free throw attempts tonight are the most he’s had in a game all season.

He may go 2 or 3 games and not even go to the line. He’s had several games this year where he didn’t even attempt a free throw.

No problem with his FT shooting tonight. He shoot too many bad shots though.

Liked him attacking the rim, but the guy is not a good shooter. He can’t hit a lay up and he can’t shoot well inside the arc. If the ball is coming off his finger tips, I want it to be a 3-ball or a FT, nothing else. Only FTs because it means he got a foul on the other team.

Brendan looks like he could have been a great pocket QB though. Not quite tall enough, but those tree trunks would take him a long way.

We won, that’s all that matters.

I think Plavich talked to Demon Brown before the game

He was under 30% in late December. I would say he had nowhere to go but up.

Cincy game, 3 for 5, three homers and a walk.

Last night, 0 for 5, 3k looking and one swinging. I’ll give him credit for a sacrifice fly to deep right.

PI… What happened to the “If you can’t say anything nice” thing…

I’m just happy that we proved that we could win against a tough opponent without the 3 ball. We only had 2 all night and both of those were in the 1st half. Refreshing, because in the past we can’t win if we don’t shoot the 3 well.

Plav produced in others areas tonight. It seemed like he was grabbing a loose rebound every other time down the court. I also remember him deflecting a few passes leading to steals tonight. Not a good game from him, but he did help us win.

2 of 19 from three and Plavich doesn’t hit one. We win and hold them to 62. Plavich played his ass off all game and came up big at the end. That’s all that counts. We would have been coasting with an easy W if we hit the normal 8 3’s per game.

What did I write that wasn't nice? I just posted stats and facts and nothing more.

???????? That is crazy. He missed 2 huge FT's then went 1 of 2 when the game was still touch and go. The two he hit with 6.8 left were big, but if he had hit earlier it may not have mattered on his final trip.

That said, we won… My concern is that we will lose another game on the line this year.

What I really didn’t care for was when on two possesions in the final minute, Plavich held onto the ball so he would get fouled instead of getting it to a better free throw shooter.

Demon used to do this late in games because he wanted to pad his stats. Plavich isn’t that selfish but I think he is such a competitor that he just feels he should be the one taking the important FT’s, even though he shouldn’t. We want Mitch, EJ or Basden on the line late in games. Plavich has proven way too many times that he is not a good clutch FT shooter.

Plav took 1 bad shot last night, the 35 foot air ball that started the game.

Every other shot he took was a good shot, they just didn’t go down.

We won, we’re still top 25 and Fudge no has to redo his show prep since I’m sure he was banking us losing.

It was a good night.

Plav came up big in the final seconds. Thats when the game was won.

How about when Mitch got fouled and Brendan went to the line instead, then misses 2 Fts. I think that was a little karma working there…
