I remember we did this before last season. It was interesting to see how close our guesses were. Anyways, here are my predictions…

Curtis Withers 18
Brendan Plavich 12
Eddie Basden 11
EJ Drayton 10
Mitchell Baldwin 7
Martin Iti 7
Leemire Golwire 6
CJ Pigford 5
Jerrell Lewis 4
Chris Nance 3
Chris Sager 2

I pretty much agree with that. I may give a couple more to Plavich. If Iti’s here and stays out of foul trouble, I think he’ll score a little more. If not, Nance may play get enough minutes to score 4 or 5 on put-backs.

Curtis Withers 20
Brendan Plavich 14
Eddie Basden 12
EJ Drayton 10
Mitchell Baldwin 7
Martin Iti 10 (of course if he’s here)
Leemire Golwire 4
CJ Pigford 5
Jerrell Lewis 4
Chris Nance 3
Chris Sager 6

I don’t know how much Golwire will contritubte his first year. I hope it’s a bunch.

I’d really like to see Sager earn some minutes this year. Plav and Curt will be our scorers. I don’t think we can rely on Eddie night in and night out for points.

I’m hoping Drayton will be a JZ type surprise, contribute big minutes and points his first year here.

Only if they're all clicking at once. We all know this team, and that doesn't happen often.

If Iti averages 7 per game I’m sure he’ll really be ready to go to the NBA then.

Martin Iti 8
Curtis Withers 16
Eddie Basden 12
Brendan Plavich 8
Mitchell Baldwin 6
EJ Drayton 12
Leemire Golwire 6
CJ Pigford 5
Jerrell Lewis 4
Chris Nance 2
Chris Sager 2

I am alittle skeptical of Drayton. Players from JUCO usually struggle their first year. Maybe 10 ppg is struggling for this guy.

Withers 18
Plav 12
Drayton 8
Basden 10
Mitch 6
Iti 10
Goldwire 10
Pigford 7
Nance 2
Sager 2-on free throws most likely
Lewis 3

Curtis Withers 18
Brendan Plavich 12
Eddie Basden 13
EJ Drayton 9
Mitchell Baldwin 7
Martin Iti 8
Leemire Golwire 6
CJ Pigford 5
Jerrell Lewis 2
Chris Nance 3
Chris Sager 2

Drayton is the best JUCO we’ve ever brought in, at least based on player rankings and NBA potential. He’ll be a very tough matchup. I’m getting the feeling we’re going to see a whole lot of Eddie, Curtis, and EJ on the court together. Those three are going to score a lot of points if Martin doesn’t come back.

Is there anything of substance to this Iti not coming back stuff, or is it speculation based on his Rickey Williams-like aloofness?

And not to let myself hijack this thread, Curtis scores 19.3 a game this season. +/- .0034325 points.

Curtis Withers 17
Brendan Plavich 14
Eddie Basden 10
EJ Drayton 7
Mitchell Baldwin 8
Martin Iti 10
Leemire Golwire 5
CJ Pigford 4
Jerrell Lewis 1
Chris Nance 4
Chris Sager 3

I think EJ will need some time to adjust and Withers’ play will free Iti underneath… Go Niners!

I can see EJ scoring around 18 points per game his senior year (05-06), when Eddie has graduated, and Curtis is gone to the NBA, along with Iti. But as for this year, I am not expecting more than around 9 or 10 per game, seeing as how he most likely wont even start.

ah, what the hay…

Withers 18.5
Basden 12 (no sweat)
Iti 10 (thats right, double-doubles from here on out)
Plavich 10
Baldwin 7

Drayton 5
Pigford 4

throw in a few more from the bench any way you see fit.

The wait is over, here is my prediction:

Withers 17.3
Plavich 12.6
Iti 10.6
Basden 10.4
Drayton 8.8
Baldwin 6.2
Pigford 4.3
Goldwire 2.6
Sager 1.8
Nance .8
Lewis .5

Withers 17
Plavich 15
Iti 9
Basden 10
Drayton 9
Baldwin 6
Pigford 5
Goldwire 2
Sager 3
Nance 2
Lewis 1

Withers is the key to Iti and Plav getting points. If he is doubled, it will drastically help Iti and keep the wings honest on defense.

I think everybody is overestimating PIgford’s total. I wish everybody had his attitude.

If the big fella suits up for us:

Withers 17
Plavich 12
Basden 12
Iti 7
Baldwin 6

Drayton 10
Nance 5
Goldwire 4
Pigford 3
Sager 3
Lewis 1

We will average right at about 80 ppg, just like last year. Drayton will be our 6th man (instant offense), Nance will prop up Iti (rebs & picks but few points), and Goldwire will see the most minutes of the backup G’s. He’ll have more assist than points on most nights.

I doubt he’s coming back unless his guardian is just playing games and trying to act like a big-timer with his “star” player. He’s not communicating with the staff. I don’t think he’s in the area. But this situation is strange. Who knows?

Where is the love for basden? I think he improves much more like he has every year, and we look to him a little more often. This is just my opinion

Withers 17
Plavich 14
Basden 15
Iti 7
Baldwin 6

Drayton 8
Nance 4
Goldwire 4
Pigford 2
Sager 3
Lewis 1
