I applied for UNCC FB color radio job. Lost to my former teammate/fellow Heel Kevin Donnalley. Kevin will be great! Congrats to KD!https://twitter.com/DeemsMay/status/345711589434990592
Kevin Donnalley played at Davidson before transfering to UNC-CH, too.
???
We canât limit our searches to only Charlotte grads. That would be stupid.

But, OF COURSE!
Good radio will be important, especially as our network grows.
One positive of noon football is we might actually be able to hear the radio broadcast on campus because theyâre allowed to transmit at full power during the day.
KD did color for our spring game and every report I heard from those that listened said he was great.

This. Donnalley is a great choice, and did an awesome job for the Spring Game. Iâm excited to have him on board.

We will have a network. This will not be a problem going forward. IMG has invested too much in us to continue ONLY airing games on 730am.

Hard to argue an NFL guy with radio chops. Good call IMO.
Wasnât Lanny Ford considered for this job? Was he in contention for the job?

Exactly, football is Lanny Fordâs forte. I am pretty sure that he played collegiately at Clemson. I donât know if he played beyond college.
Lannyâs a great guy, not exactly a wordsmith on the mic.
Iâm cool with this as long as he never mentions âhis Heelsâ.
IMG is looking for a more polished production⌠Iâm just waiting for 15 years from now when we have an ex player join the booth so we can have our own Todd Ellis-esq 110% biased homer on the mic.

I like the choice though. We now have another Panther associated with the program. We need to do everything we can to form the right relationships and so far I think weâre doing a pretty fair job of that.
Yeah, I thought he was excellent minus a few name issues here and there but who could blame him with our confused ass identity.
He dropped a couple âUNC Charlotte 49ersâ and a few âForty-Niner Nationâ
