Rice Pre-Game Thread

Both teams come in at 8-15 overall. Rice is 3-7 in conference while Charlotte is 4-6 in conference. This is really a big game for Charlotte when it comes to positioning for the C-USA tournament. We are currently 9th in C-USA.
What are your thoughts?

We trail entire game. We take a 3 point lead with less than 45 seconds left. Rice brings the ball up against tepid D. They hit a 3 at the buzzer and we lose by 5 in OT. ;D

How about they don’t hit the 3 and we win in regulation! ;D

How about Rice hits an uncontested 3 pointer at the buzzer to cut their loss margin to single digits as we win by 9.

If anyone has (2) lower level tickets they aren’t using, please pm me. I will then give my upper level tickets away to family/friends. Email or ticket return will work. Thanks

I’m good with that.

We will be up 3 with a few seconds remaining. We will foul their worst free thrower and he will hit the first and rebound the second and pitch it out for a three.
We lose again. See preview below.

We beat them by 16. It’s like A and T

We lose, but still excited about the progress we’re making.

Charlotte opened -9.5, line now -8.5 Charlotte.

Mark Price’s first real test as a coach, can he do what his predecessor could not? Can he navigate the season without suffering a loss to the Rice Owls?

Game will be won at the three point line. Charlotte’s opponents are shooting 42.2% and Rice shoots 31.1%, 41.6% of Rice’s FGA are from 3. They will heave the ball from long range often, if they happen to be hot it’s going to be a close game. Rice is 3-1 vs D1 when they shoot >36% from 3.

However, Rice’s opponents are shooting 40.7% from 3 and Charlotte shoots 37.0%, 32.2% of Charlotte’s FGA are from 3. We are a bit more selective on when to use the three-ball, and much more effective. If Charlotte is cold from beyond the arc, it will be tough sledding. Charlotte is just 2-9 when shooting <36% on the season. Although in the last 3 such games, Charlotte has trailed by a total of 2 points at the end of regulation.

You forgot to give the weather forecast.

Is that the most we’ve been favored in a conference game this year?
