Now who was telling me yesterday how Miss. St. was actually pretty good when I wrote that they wouldn’t finish in the top 150??

No one. Re-read X’s argument. He said the SEC would drag them along. I think he’s right. They’ll be close if the SEC isn’t down as a whole.

Actually it was Run and he said the Miss St will finish in the top 150 which they will not losing games like the last 2. They are worse than most of you think.

I don’t care what conference they play in, you still need to win some games and not lose to bottom feeders.

They’re a bad, bad team, but the loss probably isn’t the RPI killer that you’re making it to be. I don’t think it hurts as bad from a public perception standpoint either (name recognition - Miss St = decent/good program). What did hurt re: the RPI was that it was a home loss (regardless of the opponent), and the 9 point half absolutely killed what little buzz we were clinging to.

Bottom line is that they lost to NW State and SE Louisiana since beating us.

They are the worst team in the SEC and they held us to 38 points on our home floor. Thats not good for our program.

Memphis 108-Lamar 83

how did lamar score 83 points? did ya’ll play your walk-ons the entire second half?

Playing “Billy (Tubbs) Ball”. All offense - no defense. Also no Darius Washington for Memphis, who sat out with an injury he incurred during the Preseason NIT.

BTW, I will agree that MSU is looking pretty bad with those losses to the directional Louisiana schools. Perhaps the Bulldogs will finish out of the top 150 afterall (trading places with the only SEC team to do so last season - Georgia). Hmmm…

I know you guys may not like it, but this brand of 49er ball is not going to look like last years, where you have to hit 3’s just to keep up with the other teams scoring, ie., no more games like the Alabama game last year.

This is a rebounding, strength, work the shot clock type team. Which may prove to be a better brand of game in March if we can make it that far.

Last night our frontcourt dominated Portlands frontcourt on the D end, at one pt., late in the game, their frontcourt players combined had < 10 pts.

Keep your eyes on Georgia State vs. Louisiana-Lafayette tonight. We should find out just how much trouble we’re in.

Panthers take care of Rajun Cajuns

does that mean La Laff is having a down year?

Dayton - 75
Cincinnati - 66

…at Cincy, in front of 9100

one of the players for Lamar had 41 freaking points. They also started fouling 2 of our guys early and daring them to hit their free throws, which they didnt

Cincy isn’t worth anything this year.

Correction- they didn’t hold us to 38 pts. We’re not very good. I’m not sure we could score fifty in a half on a high school team.

Fair enough…correction: They are the worst team in the SEC and we couldn’t score more than 38 on them.
