Nice! I got into the sport a few years ago and adopted Liverpool as my PL team, partially due to Salah but also Klopp. Have become a huge fan and honestly, my soccer fandom, has surprised the Charlotte 49ers which has for so long been my TOP interest in sports. Still a Niner through & through, but soccer has grabbed my attention!!

FWIW, this is not a foul according to about 20% of the refs at my son’s tournament games. He is usually the guy in white & blue.
Wow! Definitely a red card. And then the ensuing fisticuffs like watching the opening of the USA vs Canada hockey match last night!
He was no doubt going for a deliberate injury

This is a good idea. Might be good to make clear that the count doesn’t start until the other team gets out of the way (otherwise there will be a ton of blocking on keepers).
Still think the biggest problem and delay in games though is players acting injured to get calls/cards on defenders. A one or two minute time on sidelines whenever a referee judges a player seems injured (so they can get checked out by training staff of course…) would help clean up the acting at least, even if diving would probably still be a thing.
Also hope they fix the ridiculous penalty calls when a player is trying to clear the ball out of the box and another player from behind sticks their leg out in front to tip the ball. If anything that should be a foul on the player behind. Would also be great to address when the player with the ball jumps sideways into or in front of the defender, though these might not be rule changes so much as clarifications on interpretation.
