This is shocking news if this report/poster is accurate. Two experienced BCS Coordinators. One Offensive, one Defensive:
Search for Lambert and Charlotte, and Mullen Charlotte.

If Mullen is headed here as well thatās pretty impressive.
if this is true, i think we should stage a street uprising against the administration, starting at halton. we have the power! and we deserve to knowāin real timeāwhat is going on!
Interesting. I wonder where this guy is getting his info.
from what iāve read they are happy to get rid of him, mullins iām not impressed at all. I am happy about the southern conference but very disappointed with the coaches.
Fans in our state capitol were quite happy to get rid of their coach a few years ago if I recall correctly.
Actually I have several State friends who were/are still big Amato fansā¦one is pretty high up in the Wolfpack Club. CHuck even came to his place of business twice while he was HC.
Seems Judy bought into 1-2 people ripping into Chuck instead of doing her ādue diligenceā.
Well this coaching tandem is going to sell a ton of FSLs over the next 2 years. :
Iāll believe it when I see it⦠the guy has 84 total posts on that board, and a number of his claims were off about our school, etc.
Itās Mullen. And a lot of folks feel he was scapegoated for WVUās troubles. But bottom line a new coach was brought in and they didnāt keep him. Not really uncommon.
Winning games sells and sustains FSLs. Hiring a big name coach that will sell a few FSLs and then flop would hurt the program more than anything.

I drove through campus tonight and I didnāt see this:
or this:
Anywhere!
Letās compare apples to apples.
I like the decision. Mullens and Lambert must get along and both know how to recruit in NC. Wake is an up and down school like we would be if we ever could get to their level. We could never be a Nebraska, Miami, Ohio State type of program, but we could be a Wake type of program with periodic great teams.
There are lots of good people everywhere, but WV has its backward stereotypes for good reasons. Going from Wake to WV must have been a shock and he had to replace the Rodriguez offense. You always want to be the guy who replaced the guy that replaced the legend. The fact that they would have hired in from another University to try says alot. Some people fall down, great people fall forward. Lets see what they build together.

lolā¦lets see should we hire a guy whoās been a part of winning teams 90% of his 30 year coaching career (as a HC or coordinator) and who garnered more buzz for our ānew programā over the last month than weāve had the last 2 years or someone who has won very little anywhere and just got canned from a coordinator position? Oh, and the first guy also took his teams to 5 bowls in 7 years, not to mention all the bowls and championships he was a part of at FSU. Oh and thereās that little factor of having instant credibility with recruits, parents and hs coaches when you walk into their living rooms trying to sell your team/programā¦wow, tough choice.
This is true - but we also need a coach who can sell FSLs for two years before we snap a ball. Just being a great coach is not going to cut it when you donāt do any game day coaching until 2013. We need a salesman who can get people interested in the team and THEN win to keep them interested.
i guess the silver lining is that if a guy is the dc of a terrible team and can get a job, heās a salesman.

Well I guess that is true.
Bottom line: Initially, NOT EVERYONE will be pleased with WHOMEVER we hire. : However, winning big and winning often will solve EVERYTHING.
