Sirin’s finding his game, too. St. Joe’s sagging D really bit them this game.

SJU is really bad.

That is one serious case of Whup Ass. It HAS to be because I visited the 49er yesterday…

or not.

But that place does seem to have luck for us…

Tenn, I’m gonna need you to be there before the remainder of our games…

Indeed. They absolutely suck.

That said, I do believe that this team can keep playing at a high level to finish out the season. It was great to see Ian score some points. A kid who has as much heart as he does deserves to have a night like tonight.

I definitely don’t envy Phil Martelli. They have zero size and zero 3pt threats.

I agree that SJU looked awful tonight. They looked like we did against ODU or Duke. Not a statement game, but fun to watch Ian, Gokin, KJ and the reserves play extremely well tonight. Threes were falling like the rain in Charlotte this winter.

I love Gokin’s stroke…very pure. We could use that kind of shooting the rest of the way, but guys like Ian and Gokin will have a tough time getting looks against the remaining teams on our schedule, I think. Both are limited on D as well. KJ looks more comfortable be ready to contribute over the next few games.

I hope we bring our A game the rest of the way and earn our way back into an at large birth in the dance. If we get on a roll and knock off UR, URI, handle GW and win at least two in the conf tourney, I think we are there. I personally dont think 23 wins will get us in due to our bad losses. I think it’s 24 or win the A10 tourney.

usually a bad loss is against 100+ RPI which we have 0 of…Duguesne is top 100/. They also usually dont weigh in as much our gettin blown out. I mean if Dayton is considered in by most, 23 wins if we win our last three plus 1 better get us in.

Excellent performance by our guys tonight! Good win that we definitely needed. Statement game? I don’t know, I don’t wanna take away from our guys who played great. However, I think SJU is pretty bad.

SJU has two players. Lutz excels at shutting down teams with limited offensive threats.

They do have size. Their bigs are not athletes, but they do work hard. Just mediocre talent and limited athleticism.

Ian’s shot has a little more arc on it. I do not think that it’s a coincidence that he made more shots tonight.

In addition to shooting so well that he knew the balls was going in the second it left his hands, Gokhan also moves really well without the ball. If Bobby does follow through on playing him at the 2 we need to either play zone on defense and/or have him play the 3 on defense, cause he simply has not chance to guard most 2s - they’re just too quick for him. KJ and Barnett both picked up fouls after he got burned.

Enough on the negative though. This was a fun game. We played a team that is struggling like we were last year, and we did exactly what we are supposed to do to teams like that, we beat the piss out of them. That game was over when it was 74-34 with about 6 minutes left. St Joes was done. They had no answers for us. Felt good.

Our fans hate success. We beat the piss out of a bad team. What more do you want?

46 points from our bench. As Bobby said in the post game - we probably wont play the bench as much as we did tonight, but this builds their confidence, and we really need more bench production.

How about Ian with the steal and finger roll, and Wilderness with a nasty Basden-esque steal and breakaway dunk?

What’s wrong with saying St. Joes is a really bad team? What else do you want us to say?

Powerbait hates success? Give it a rest NA. Good lord.

How about giving some credit to our team for playing well and doing what we needed instead of trying to “blame the win” on the other team being limited.

No one had any sympathy for us last year when we were 11-20… and this St joes team took Temple to OT and we beat Xavier last year in our worst season in a quarter century. Nothing is a given. Beating the crap out of them is what we should have done and we did.

Here, since it’s apparently such a difficult concept to grasp, I’ll help you: “Well done Niners”.

“Tenn, I’m gonna need you to be there before the remainder of our games…”

Nice sentiment fella, but can’t arrange that. It’s 2 hours away in a direction I rarely go, and a real dive…

this place really has some karma for us though…

Tenn - next time you’re in, I’d like to stop by and say hi. Been a long time.

Do you really think Gokin has legit quickness to guard a 3 or to create his own looks against high major D1?? You are a better judge than I am, but he seems a step slow to me. Purest stroke I’ve seen…we sure could use his 3’s.
