Ralax. When Lua was made ineligible, and KJ and Dew were hurt, this season ended.
We simply cannot play with the cards we were dealt. Itâs going to be a tough season, but donât judge the program for having to carry a daggar to a gun fight.
Gardner Webb and Coastal arenât gun fights.
I agree that without Luka and KJ we were fighting an uphill battle to be in the top of the A10. With that said we should not be losing to GW and Coastal. Hell even the games we have won were closer than they should have been.

Asking this board to this to calm down and relax? Come on TinTin, you know better than that. ;D
To put things in perspective guys, Duke had seasons of 10-17 and 11-17 after Coach K. took over, and he had head coaching experience.
Not saying Major is going to be Coach K., but the point is even the best coaches endure tough seasons. They learn, they grow, they get better. We as fans have a completely unrealistic expecation of what a new coach should do coming in.
Itâs clear this season will be a painful one. Our talent is lacking overall, we have very little depth, no leadership on the floor and our coach is learning. Iâm as frustrated as anyone but I want to be realistic.
Iâm firmly on board to giving major through year 3 before passing judgement on him. Thatâs the fair thing to do. There will be those on here who refuse to do that. Those that either didnât want Lutz gone, wanted a different coach than Major, want to see us fail so they can bash Judy some more, or any combination of those. But I think those who are supporters of the Niner program first and put their own agendas second will give Major and the team time to mature.
Taking over a team that went to the Elite 8 the year before. Maybe you forgot, but we didnât even make the NIT last year.
I was 7 in 1980 but thanks for trying to jog my memory : I have no idea what Duke gained or lost that year. Maybe the âcupboard was empyâ :-* Just keeping the facts real in regards to the first season that you semi distorted. I would love to know who Duke lost all those games to that you refer to. I suspect the ACC mopped them for most of those losses. Not Gardner Webb and Coastal.
The Radford game is huge. If we lose to 3 straight Big South teams, something is bad wrong, and its not the players. These players are superior to Big South athletes.
Your ranting that Judy haters want Major to fail is comical. Grow up. Its legitimate for season ticket holders to be scratching their heads right now.

You missed my point (shocking). My point was even great coaches have had their down years. Great coaches when they became new coaches had them as well. I wasnât comparing Dukeâs situation to ours, just pointing out that even a great coach like Coach K. had a rough patch early in his career.

Thereâs this thing called google. Amazing accomplishment in technology. Give it a try.

I never said it was. Nice straw man Buzz boy. I pointed out the fact that there are people on here, you chief among them, that would love nothing more than to see Major fail so you can use it as ammo against Judy. Thatâs no secret.

Box scores and radio feeds donât do it justice.
This.
I was one of the longest supporters of Bobby. I finally got off the train last year and said we needed a change. I was super excited about Major. I DO NOT WANT HIM TO FAIL.
That said, I have way less faith in his ability to turn this team around after watching him coach in game from 20 feet away.
You guys are living in the past. The gap between a Big South team and an A10 team is not that big.In fact gap between a BCS team and several lower conferences is not that big.Upsets and
near upsets are happening all the time. That didnât happen five years ago.Losing to Webb & Coastal
is disappointing but its just who plays well that night.

I agree somewhatâŚin theory we should not lose to these teamsâŚbut the losses we have so far i can stomach. GW was our own fault, George Mason is not a bad team, Coastal went 28-7 last year, i dont care what league you are in, 28-7 is goodâŚnow we have no excuse or reason to lose any of the next 5 gamesâŚwe better be 7-3 going into Time Warner Cable Arena.
How can you say you have no faith in him turning around the program after 5 games.
You base this on what?
Based on listening and watching some of majors in game coaching. He was lost, the players were lost⌠he kept telling the players âyouâre goodâ right before they would back door us⌠2 seconds before. I was super excited before⌠but now not so much.
