The least they could do is give him a decent looking costumeā¦that thing was awful
I heard that the hawk got into a fight one time during a game or somethingā¦kept on flapping while fighting. Anybody confirm this???

No kidding, but maybe if St. Joes rises to the nelson-west days again they can pull off some real stunts, like having the Hawk roll out on a giant paper-meche arm and they can take off his hood and he can fly via a wire system and swoop down on the audience, or they could just get him another costume with giant googly eyes.
Chevee-thanks man. Firewall here at work wonāt allow me to open up the video link. Somebody describe it for me please. Sorry for the reset.
Swierad said something last night along the lines of:
āHopefully they are giving him a full scholarship so he can pay for the torn labrum surgery later on in lifeā

Game against Rhode Island. Ram put an inner tube over the Hawkās head to keep his arms down during a time out. Next thing you know, the hawk threw it off and his hat/head with it. He started chasing the ram down while flapping his arms. A picture is worth a thousand words, so here is a clip from itā¦
That is one of the best things about beating them. That stupid hawk has to travel down here and flap his wings for 2+ hours, just to lose the game!
The wing-flapping is impressive from a dedication and physical fitness standpoint, but it is monotonous after a few minutes. He doesnāt do anything else to excite the fans, at least here. Does he do more at home?
Hey, Lew- I was looking for your flapping- what happened?
You have my new favorite avatar. Very nice!!

Awesome! Mrs. Plavich posted pics of their kid a few months ago. Have you been developing football skills yet?

Well he is starting to walk, so next month we work on his 40 time. He has been watching the NFL playoff intently and is patterning himself after Brady.

He is not allowed to watch the Panthers play, I donāt want to stiffel his developement.
Why donāt we give Norm a novelty title too like āAsst. Team Managerā so that he can go on the road with us. It really just seems like a blatant way to get around the rules to me if that really is the way they get their mascot here. Doesnāt seem to help too much does, SJU?
Next time they come down I think it would be funny if Norm walked over with a nice pick axe and pretended to hack away at the bird. Iām not sure if that would come across as too violent for our younger attendees but I thought it would be funny and be a good way to keep the fans hyped up during a timeout.

couple of years ago norm got a huge ladder and set it up behind the hawk and climbed all the way to the top and started flapping his arms. whenever the hawk turned around and looked at him norm would stop and pretend to watch the game.

That was 1 of the best videosā¦EVER.I love how the hawk/kid kept flapping even as they were breaking it up,I give him a lot of credit.Did anyone else see Norm last night kinda mocking the hawk at 1 of the timeouts?

The one where half the arena was flapping with him? Yeah, I think a few noticed.
