The Rams (6-5) are an average to below average team holding an RPI of 114 with their biggest win coming vs Providence of the Big East.
Recently the Rams have been performing very poorly losing 4 of their last 5. Dropping contests to Ohio, Wagner, Houston and Boston College. With their two most recent losses to Houston and BC coming by a combined 145-97. The only win in the recent 5 game stretch came vs Northeast conference representative Quinnipiac.
The Rhode Island Rams have this to say about their noble mascot on the official athletic website, www.gorhody.com
“The Ram has been roaming the sidelines of the Rhode Island athletic teams for more than 80 years. On March 8, 1923, the Ram was adopted as Rhode Island State College’s official mascot. On November 21, 1929, the first actual “live” Ram made an appearance for the school. Live mascots were actually housed on campus for many years until It looks like Charlotte can stop this team if we can effectively shut down Will DanielsIt looks like Charlotte can stop this team if we can effectively shut down Will Danielsthe 1960s when it was no longer feasible to maintain a live mascot. The live ram at the university was housed in what was known on campus as the “dairy barn” which stood across the street from the north end zone of Meade Stadium. The dairy barn that was once the home to the live ram is now nothing but a pile of dirt but at the time of housing the live mascot it was actually a very useful building.”
Correct me if I'm wrong, but 13.9 is higher than 11, so Robinson is leading them in scoring no?
Robinson has a higher avg per game, but has only played 8 games. Daniels has played in all 11 games yet has a lower average but has scored more points.
Sorry, should have made this clear in my write up.
Will Daniels is from right next to my hometown. I saw him play a few times at FDR High School. His HS team was awful, but he was unstoppable. He is a good player, but I think we have too much for the Rams as a whole. Down the road however, he could be a 1st team A-10 caliber player.
I think this crowd is going to be even smaller than the asheville game, im in row A for the first time ever and I am usually in row C

What idiot schedule this game for the same night as the Rose Bowl Nat’l Championship?
Who gives a d@&^ about another college exibition game? Tape it if you must see it. The highlites will only replay 300-400 times the next day on ESPN and ESPNews. This is our first conference game in the A-10 and a game we must have if we are to keep postseason hopes alive. The five games following this one are going to be brutal. I sincerely hope the majority of our fan base won’t opt out to watch a football game that essentially means nothing.

What he said…If you REALLY need to see the football game, get TiVO.
I hope you guys don’t underestimate URI. BC has finally got a key suspended player back. They are a legit Top-10 team. Infact UMass plays BC tonite and they are most likley going to take us down fairly easliy too. Wagner damn near knocked off UCLA, Houston beat Arizona, Ohio won the Mac, has 4 starts back and should have beated Kentucky last Friday. URI is a pretty good defensive team. I think Charlotte should win by 5 or 10 points, but it won’t easy

I’m afraid we will underestimate Rhode Island. We just played UNCA (one of the worst team in Division 1) and were able to play anyway we wanted to and still win. Playing teams that are much worst than you doesn’t challenge you or help you improve. Everyone overlooked Valpo and thought we could just show up and win. Rhode Island isn’t a great team but a decent team able of beating us if we don’t play up to our potential.

I completely agree.
Also, the football game is for the MYTHICAL championship. Big deal.
