The one thing I donāt understand about the allegations is if he was so bad, & said such terrible things, why did his players continue playing for him at a high level for years. That just doesnāt add up to me but maybe Iām missing something.

When I was growing up, I could have used a few select strikes from a coach. Itās not so bad. Itās not like heās striking students in World History

Nothing was proven to be true and the school still paid himā¦clearly, they could have gotten out of paying him if allegations were proven true. Virtually every one who has worked with him in the past has said they dont believe the allegations.
And by the way, this is Gregg teaching American history at Winthrop
Choose to think what you want but he canāt recruit with that hanging over him. The school never released the findings and yes the negotiated a buyout that was half of what he was due to receive. Most people in the know have felt that was done because long term it was the quickest way to be done with him and avoid a lawsuit.

Cream literally has done nothing without Dwayne Wade. He owes Wade a lot of money.
Pretty sure Wade has done well enough financial wise. 
Crean definitely knew how to recruit right up to the end at UGA but on court results just werenāt there - even with an NBA #1 draft pick on the team!
Facts
Bobby Knight coached seven more years at Texas Tech after getting dismissed from Indiana, and he had way more baggage than Gregg Marshall
How long would Knight last in todays environment? Week? Also, todays AAU kids and Knight would be a bad combination.

Knights structure and discipline would not sit well with some potential recruits, but when you have accolades on your resume like he does, players would play for him, why, because they want to win, and develop into better players
But my point was to show that coaches with controversial past can be hired again if they have the resume, Pitino and Hugh Freeze (football) were both given opportunities by religious schools after sex scandals, Knights indiscretions were similar to Gregg Marshalls and he was given another opportunity to coach
If I woke up tomorrow morning and found out that Mike Hill hired Gregg Marshall as our new basketball coach, I personally would be ecstatic because I know that we are about to win at a high level and get back to the NCAA tournament regularly, and I do believe that he could recruit high level players in spite of his past indiscretions just like Knight
