I donāt recall marshalls teams ever being loaded with high level recruits, especially not before the final four run. Even after that I seem to recall mostly three stars, transfers, and juco guys. The guy knows how to coach and get the best out of their talents though.
Doesnāt matter though, Iād put my money in an asteroid hitting the earth tomorrow before Iād put money in Marshall getting hired here.

Desperate? We passed desperate a few years ago! Just win! People get second chances for stuff that was far worse than Gregg Marshallās alleged behavior. If he gets us to a final four after smacking a Niner player across his head who had one comingā¦Iād be ok with that.

They get those chances when they can do the job still. Bobby Knight got his 23 years ago and recruiting was quite different. If Marshall was still thought to be able to do his then he would not of been out of coaching for what appears will be four seasons now. In that time been over 150 coaching changes and not one job offer. That says all I need to know about where he stands.

A great coach can fall out of bed from an 4 year coma, and get more out of a team than Ron Sanchez.
Football Bill Parcels took 3 years off twice. He was a mean, intimidating coach who is probably Top 5, ever.
We donāt know what Marshall was contacted for coaching gigs and passed, do we?

Kelvin Sampson is the model for success in AAC; Marshall, Haith & Pastner are those type of candidates.
Hopefully Hill is considering this type of approach.
