I’m sure that the city you are in is very vibrant and full of things to do. After all…I did read the top 100 things to do in Manhattan, written by your chamber of commerce.
Your basketball program is top flight…and now being directed by a very upstanding member of the community. And you will probably get a couple of top recruits to play for your team…and move you up to the middle of the conference before they bolt for the NBA.

I am probably the only person on this board that attended both KSU and UNCC. I went to KSU for a PhD program and left after a semester. People think the south is redneck. Well go to Kansas. They call themselves the “Little Apple”. It is a pretty boring place. Only thing to do is get drunk. It is an ugly fest for the ladies to. It may be worse than Duke and at least at Duke if you hook up with an ugly girl they will more than likely be rich. The girl in Kansas either lives in a trailer or on a farm. You won’t get much inheritance with the farm as everyone is leaving Kansas and land sells for about $500 an acre vs. $40,000 an acre here.
You are about 2 hours from Kansas City. NBA scouts do not go to Manahttan as they can’t get there unless you want to ride a 19 seat prop plan.

I don’t think we should be labeling Manhattan as boring. It can be very exciting. For sheer exhilaration, nothing beats the adrenalin rush of watching a tornado bearing down on your home.

In a way, Cinci was never our rival, Bob Huggins was.
Now I hate Huggy Bear as much as anyone, but I wasn’t too fond of any of their players either. The rivalry was definately with Cinci and their greater graduating numbers. I consider all of Huggy Bear’s players little Huggy Thuggins’ Cubs. In fact, even with Huggy leaving, I still can’t force myself to root for Cinci against anyone. I hope they lose every game from here on out, forever.
I seriously DOUBT the poster who said he attended KSU. To say that Kansas has more rednecks than ANY southern state proves that he doesn’t know what he is talking about. In fact, Kansas is in the top 5 in states with educated residents. Everyone is a farmer?? Laughable! In fact, the major of Agriculture or Agribusiness is less than 5% of the enrollment. Besides stating the obvious, you live in SOUTH CAROLINA…hardly the center of high class…nah, no rednecks come from south carolina! LOL…now, I’ve never been to Charlotte. From the descriptions here, it sounds very nice, a place I’d like to visit. Now, you know NOTHING about Manhattan, and from the asinine statements, you know NOTHING about Kansas or Kansans. Now, I realize that you are peeved at Huggins from MAYBE stealing your best recruit…but aren’t you mad at the wrong person. Be mad at Beasley! It is HIS decision. Can’t a 18 year old decide to attend school where he wants?? He has a choice and will make the best choice for HIM. Trashing his other choice doesn’t make you look better, just ignorant. As soon as he visits KSU, he’ll clearly realize that the good ol’ boys from SC didn’t know what the heck they were talking about!
