I don’t know the whole story, all jokes aside, but from what I’ve heard, it seems over the line.
he was being held down by 5 police officers and he was unarmed. You could say he was being a nuisance, but he wasn’t a threat to anyone. The cops definitely went over the line and should be disciplined. Not fired, but reprimanded in some way.
5 on 1 you should be fired.
How much of a pansy do you have to be that 5 can’t control 1? Unless he’s a 7-foot giant, it shouldn’t be a problem.

I think it was actually 3 or 4 or one, but either way, the guy wasn’t really putting up much of a fight other than some yelling. He tried to push them away at first, but once they got a good hold on him he wasn’t doing anything except screaming for help. He even begged them not to taser him and they did it anyway.
The campus cops went way over the line-> UF better get ready to write a sizable check out to Mr Meyer. This is an obscene abuse of police authority. A man is being held down by 5 to 6 cops and then Tased. All this for wanting quations answered at a Kerry forum? Incredible.
While I don’t think that the police should have tased this dude, I also think this guy is an idiot. At an event like this, you don’t have a RIGHT to get up and say whatever you want on the mic. He was making a statement more than he was asking a question. They cut his mic off b/c of the way he was carrying on. The police had every right to escort him out. Venues that host these events reserve the right to escort you out if you are disrupting the event. He did not have an option to not cooperate with the police then.
Now the guy was an idiot to try and defy the police. 10 times out of 10, you will lose when you do that. I don’t think they should have tased him, but a great lesson to learn is to listen to the police.
He should have just asked a question like everyone else did.

The cops went way over the line. Way over the line. He wasn’t smart to ask his questions like that, but I think they shoulda let it play out some more. And definitely no taser. What a BS move. This is the reason people say “cops suck.”

This kid was a total clown and was purposely being a jackball, part of me thinks he wanted the cops to go overboard. I mean look at him, he’s got 15 min of fame, and he’s probably going to get paid.
Kerry actually wanted the question, he just wanted him to hurry up, which is reasonable. Kerry’s “official statement” was weak though, however it got him in the news as well.

Did anybody else laugh their ass off watching this clown? I sure as hell did. I loved the part, when they asked him for like the 10th time to hurry up and asked his question, he turns to the usher and says,
“He (Kerry) has got to talk for almost 2 hours, I think you can give me 5 minutes”

They kept yelling for him to stop resisting and to roll over on his stomach. Irregardless of Mr Meyer’s antic’s, police brutality should not be allowable. Our society is based on tolerance and the protection of free speech, no matter how much we may disagree or dislike what is being said. When 5 - 6 police have a man on the ground and then Tase him, all because he would’nt shut up in a public forum that’s the worst IMHO.
If Andrew Meyer were a woman or minority, how would this play out? Yeah, it’d be even worse.
